Earlier last year I was in Berlin with Maja for a job interview. I had to sew a sample during my interview and it was a big fail ahaha. Anyways still had a wonderful day, went to Pasternak afterwards, one of Patti Smiths favourites in Berlin.
One day we went for a walk on tempelhofer feld. There was this person skating. They had really interesting inline skates, ones that I’ve never seen before. The skates were kind of loose, so the person would kick one skate away and balance on the other, to get back to the one they’d kicked away before. While doing this, they were listening to mazzy stars fade into you on repeat. Such a wholesome moment.
When I was on summer holiday in August I was kind of in a big stress because I had to find something to do from September on. I was sending out quite a lot of applications and heard back from madomorpho. They are based in Berlin and though I was really thankful for this opportunity I didn’t like the idea of moving to Berlin. The day I was thinking about whether to do it or not Mazzy Stars fade into you was playing three times at three unrelated moments. I remembered this moment on Tempelhof and felt really emotional, and saw it as a good omen.
One and a half months into my stay in Berlin, I randomly (and also after a really long time) turned on FIP radio, one of my favourite French radiostations and the first song to be played was fade into you.
Now I have to cry a little bit each time I hear the song.
Love writing these little love letters to life 💕 #cheesy loool auf wiedersehen Berliiin, thanks to all the dear people I’ve met ❤️
