We caught up with Steve Revitte, FOH for LCD Soundsystem, at London’s O2 Brixton last June to dig into his workflow on an SSL Live L650 paired with MADI-connected ML32.32 stageboxes. The LCD show is fully live, with roughly 64 inputs and no click. Steve leans on Stems, surgical EQ, and SSL Live’s open architecture—where he can put “anything, anywhere”—using flexible processing order and fast routing to stay in the sweet spot. He chose SSL Live for its user interface—bright, big buttons, everything visible and quick to reach—plus the sound and pristine mic pres. Even with a loud stage (around forty wedges), the result is an open, musical mix. For outboard, he complements the desk with SSL FUSION and two THE BUS+ units for analogue colour and compression that slot neatly alongside the console’s onboard tools.

Mixing Eagles at the Sphere with SSL Live. Arch Audio Hits Record on First Future Analogue Tracking Session in the USA with SSL ORACLE Console.
