We celebrate today. Not only to honor the ones that came before us but the ones that are here now and the ones that are to come. I'm so thankful for this way of life. #indigenouspeoplesday #nativeamerican #powwow #regalia #spiritualjourney❤️ #thankful

Today, we pause to honor Indigenous Peoples Day - a time to reflect on the wisdom, resilience, and living traditions of Indigenous communities. It’s a reminder to move through the world with awareness, gratitude, and care for the land that sustains us all. I’m grateful to share this journey with Levi of @solidrocknature whose live native instrumental music enriches our yoga community and invites deep connection, presence, and reflection. His gifts remind us that healing grows through relationship, respect, and listening - to each other, to the land, and to the traditions that have been here long before us. May today inspire all of us to honor Indigenous peoples not just in words, but in the ways we live, listen, and move in the world.

Word of the day forward (tȟokáta) The future is never certain. But the future is full of wonderful and beautiful possibilities. The future may have some fires in it, but with fires comes new growth. Don't be scared of the future but be excited. The new people you may meet and the experiences that are up ahead to help you become the person that you aim to become is exciting. Just keep moving forward! #inspiration #healing #nativeamerican #powwow #future #spirituality

Word of the day is community. (Oyate -the people) Building a strong community is an indigenous concept. Love one another, help one another, inspire and uplift one another. Being part of a community can be an amazing experience. I love my community. #indigenous #powwowlife #community #lakota #teaching #dance #nativeamerican

Word of the day is steady "Become the tree.” – White Buffalo Calf Woman There is a lot of teaching on becoming a tree, but the part that I want to focus on today is the steadiness of a tree. A tree is constantly growing, although it may be a little at a time it is still consistently growing. Its roots run deep in the ground to ensure that it doesn't go anywhere. A tree is a constant giver to all life. It gives oxygen, it provides food and shelter to the 4 legged. So learn to be steady like a tree. #indigenousknowledge #teaching #nativeamericanflute #backtonatureconnection #nature #trees ##mountains

Word of the day is ambiance Ambiance is defined as the character and atmosphere of a place. Sometimes you have to create the ambiance you need. Sometimes you find a place where the ambiance you need is already there. Go find your perfect ambiance. #nativeinstrumentals #ambiance #calming #thundergourd #backtonatureconnection

Word of the day, Heartbeat The drum represents a heart beat. The heartbeat of the earth, the heartbeat of humanity, the heartbeat of all creation. This simple beat of the sacred drum can help bring you back to balance and steady rhythm. @jbhyogastudio #nativeinstrumentals #nativeamericandrum #heartbeat #yoga #meditation #outdooryoga #dentonnc

Word of the day balance. Having balance is important in our lives. We all struggle with finding balance because of everything that the dominant society has put in front of us (cell phones, Internet, money, material objects, ect) But finding that balance is important. Look at the thunder. When storms come, the wind starts blowing, the rain starts pouring and destruction can happen. But within that destruction comes new life too. It's a cleansing to open for new growth. With balance comes growth.

They say the longest road we ever travel is the one from the head to the heart. This Friday evening, our yoga and sound healing practice offers space to take that journey. We’ll begin with gentle movement and breath, softening the grip of the mind and easing tension in the body. From there, the resonance of sound invites you to settle deeper — quieting thought, opening the heart, and returning to a place of balance within. By the end of the evening, you may feel lighter, clearer, and more connected — as though you’ve traveled a long way without ever leaving your mat. 📅 Friday, August 22nd at 7pm 📍 @solidrocknature Denton, NC ✨ Save your spot today - /weekly-schedule
