“What does reparation look like when you’re a woman of Caribbean descent standing at the crossroads of race, sex and class?” This is the question that musician ALA.NI @alaniofficial explores in her new song “TIEF” from her new album Sunshine Music. Artwork animated by @joshuasolas of @solasink TIEF draws inspiration from the song “Slave” by the legendary calypsonian singer Mighty Sparrow and explores themes of cultural theft, stolen wealth, and African Caribbean identity. “Cultural theft often feels like watching someone drive past in your own car every day, cheerfully, without ever acknowledging it used to be yours. That’s how it can feel when your culture is taken, resold and detached from the people who originally created it.” You can support the call for former colonial governments and institutions to apologise and commit to repair by signing in solidarity using the link in bio @repaircampaign , or comment repair to get the link sent to you directly. Every signature strengthens the movement. Support ALA.NI by streaming Sunshine Music on all streaming platforms. #Repair #Reparations #ReparatoryJustice #NewMusic #CaribbeanArtists

Join us for the opening of UNTIL SUCH TIME — a visual disruption featuring works by Joshua Solas, where Jamaican street life collides with the viral energy of internet culture. The exhibition, produced by BAD ART GALLERY, curated by Narrative Curatorial, and managed by The Belmont Agency, shatters traditional visual narratives. Solas transforms everything from patties to Kingston’s pulsing streets into visual anthems that speak in memes – today’s most potent form of cultural currency, creating a bold reclamation of narrative power that demands engagement and stops thumbs mid-scroll. UNTIL SUCH TIME opens Dec 16 @10akingston at 6pm Show runs till Dec 29 RSVP and shop merch at BADARTGALLERYJA.com Bring your people 🚗 💨 🏃🏿‍♀️💨🏃🏿‍♂️💨
