Durante 388,000 años (97 % de nuestra historia) los humanos vivimos como cazadores-recolectores con un impacto mínimo en el planeta. La agricultura existe desde hace 11,800 años (2.95 %). La revolución industrial, apenas 300 años (0.075 %). Y los sistemas industriales modernos tienen solo 200 años (0.05 %). Sin embargo, en ese brevísimo último periodo hemos consumido más recursos del planeta que en todo lo anterior. El problema es que la industria también sostiene nuestra existencia actual. En un mundo sin sistemas industriales podrían sobrevivir máximo 10 millones de personas. Hoy somos 8.27 mil millones. Por eso me pregunto: ¿es posible encontrar un equilibrio entre la supervivencia humana y la salud del planeta? Estas imágenes pertenecen a “Réquiem para las Debutantes”, proyecto en el que recuperé más de 1/4 de tonelada de ropa de descarte. About the lonely figure who sees the contamination spreading and refuses to stay silent. What happens when the truth is not about poisoned water but about the poisoned idea of ‘the people’—who belongs, who is pushed out, who is the enemy? And was Ibsen ever truly a feminist, or was he simply watching women drown in their own stories? AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE is a spoken word concert, a sonic contamination, a broken transmission. As an interdisciplinary artist, Sol focuses on performance art, Expanded Cinema, and exploring lighting design as a choreographic practice—with abstraction, eroticism, and magic being central themes in his work.
