For this installation, we custom-designed an organically curved planter box to instill a sense of calm and tenderness in a space frequently used as a lounge area to decompress after a long day. Complete with a tiered faux bonsai, dainty flowers, shrubs and mini boulders, all requiring zero upkeep to maintain their beauty.

An installation that transcends boundaries
For this massive build, we designed and fabricated a 4.5 metre-tall tree that ascends into the airwell situated next to the stairs, supported by a cozy sitting nook. Naturally illuminated by a skylight, it’s a sight to marvel at from every level, every day 💫

On the exterior, the idea of Borrowed Scenery (차경, “Chagyeong”) features a trio of stainless steel planters naturally overflowing with muhly grass, assorted ferns, sleeping pines and volcanic rocks, framing a curated selection of trees.
The interior centrepiece is an encased custom-designed faux Camellia tree, complete with moss and boulder landscaping.
