Pippin traveled to Canada from Thailand back in 2018. Heather, a wonderful supporter, and volunteer, wanted to add a new family member. Heather decided a Soi Dog was who she wanted, and after working together with the Adoptions team her heart chose Pippin.
Itās been many years since Pippinās arrival, and she now spends her days on long walks with Heather, stopping at her favorite rest stops. Pippin is even a daily regular in a local shop!
Heather says: āPippin makes so many people smile when they see her taking a rest in the shop, or outside the community centre or the Wobbly Canoe restaurant! She seems to regard Shop on the Shore, previously The Emporium, as her second home! Weāre there practically every day for 20-25 mins.ā
Itās so rewarding seeing Pippin thrive, and also to see one of our wonderful supporters happy with her loyal companion.
We appreciate Heather, and those of you who support Soi Dog Canada so that we can continue to work to end animal cruelty, homelessness and suffering. Soi Dog Canada is 100% volunteer driven and we work very hard to ensure every dollar is wisely spent.
While we canāt currently welcome dogs to Canada, we still are supporting ones that are already here when they need us. Any additional donations, we forward directly to Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand to assist the animals directly there. Every single cent is utilized carefully and maximized.
No donation is too small. If you wish to donate to Soi Dog Canada please do so here:
1. Cheque to:
Soi Dog Canada

2. E-transfer or PayPal to:

Thank you again to Heather and all supporters for helping the dogs like Pippin who need us.
Happy trails Pippin! š§”š¤

In loving memory of Soi Dog Kai, who was cherished beyond words by Stephanie and family.
āIn late 2018 I had just learned about Soi Dog Foundation and while browsing the website to educate myself about their mission, I became quite taken with the photos and background of an older dog listed for adoption named Sasquatch who had white socks and a quirky smile.
All things adoption-related fell into place and Sasquatch (now named Kai) came to live with me in BC in the summer of 2019. Right from the get-go, it was easy to understand why this dashing āolder gentlemanā had built up quite a fan club among the Soi Dog staff and volunteers. Quirky, charming, and with his streetwise flair, he knew exactly how to work a crowd - sidling up to strangers, leaning just so against their legs, and batting his eyes in hopes of scoring snacks. No one could resist š
Despite his age, Kai adapted surprisingly well to his new life in the Pacific Northwest. He learned about the joys of stuffies, doggie siblings, and adventures in the great outdoors. As he grew older, his favorite outings became beach walks, where he could zig zag around at his own pace and poke about in the sand. Kai had his simple joys: napping together, Friday night dinners at the grandparentsā house, and being part of a family who adored him. He was sharp of mind and full of charm right up until his body finally said āenoughā in the spring of 2025 when he was 15-ish years old.
Thank you to all who cared for him at Soi Dog so he could be loved on during his retirement years in Canada. He is greatly missed.ā
The Soi Dog Canada team shares in the sadness whenever a Soi Dog passes, but at the same time, it makes us happy seeing the second chance that dog had in life. Kai was truly blessed to come to Canada, and to be so loved.
Run free Kai. š¤š§”

We are sharing a long-waited update regarding our challenge of CFIAās dog import ban. While we didnāt receive the outcome we were looking for, we have renewed our call for Canada to adopt science-based screening of dogs imported into Canada. We will continue to keep you updated and appreciate your unwavering support. š¤š§”
Get @reshare_app ⢠@animaljustice_ For over 3 years, Canadaās ātemporaryā dog import ban has blocked rescuers from saving dogs from war zones, natural disasters, & the meat trade š Earlier this month, Animal Justice & @soidogcanada challenged this ban as unreasonable & unfair in the Federal Court.
Unfortunately, the Court upheld the ban as lawful. Now, Animal Justice & over 50 rescue organizations around the world have written to the CFIA, urging it to replace the ban with a permanent, science-based policy that protects both dogs & public health.
Stanley has spent October collecting cans and bottles for Soi Dog Canadaās 2nd annual āAre You Thirsty?ā fundraiser.
Itās not too late to participate, just take your October empties to the bottle depot and donate proceeds to us. ā»ļø
So, drink up! Gulp! Every can of pop, iced tea, or your drink of choice can make a difference to animals who desperately need help. Later this week, weāll post options for how to remit the collected funds. š°
Have you been collecting your empties this month?
