You have to push to stay relevant in an industry where fresh young coaches enter the market year after year. @thechrisparnell talks about his critical moment after a major life event, where he decided to get his master's degree and push his knowledge of physiology and muscle hypertrophy to the next level. Chris tells the full story of his epic comeback, and we have gems like this document the mode he was in at the time. If you want to take your knowledge of applied hypertrophy training to the next level and want CLARITY on what to do, come hear Chris speak on April 12th. April 12th, @thechrisparnell is presenting the Science of Size. In this sit down, we talk about Chris' career. From where he started as a young coach, switching careers to where he is now, almost 10 years later. We get into what it's like studying under one of the legends of the muscle research game and what some basic parameters are for hypertrophy across the spectrum of the training population. Chris is a wealth of information and offers great insight. This 50-minute sit down is packed with information and insight that you can put to work today. If you like this stuff, you will love the Science of Size. For the full video, click the link in Bio.

I got taken to SCHOOL!! @thechrisparnell came through to coach me through my upper body session today. I worked up to a heavy set of 3 and was planning to do drop sets of 8 at a % of that top set. I failed miserably on the drop set. It's wild because as a strength coach, I'm generally looking for the best blend of load and velocity. I don't do a lot of super high volume work. I'm trying to blast it at all times. The problem is that it is NOT the best way to train if growth is the goal. I wasn't getting the specific tissue stress or time under tension needed to stimulate growth. To be honest, I just kinda thought that intensity and volume were the most important things to nail down if I wanted hypertrophy. Turns out... there's more to it. I had a narrow grip. I had pretty compressed front of my torso. I wasn't taking my time to stretch and load the chest. I wasn't getting tissue expansion on the way down. I WAS, however, tight as sh*t and gonna pop like a grape, lol. Chris gave me a few cues, had me check the ego, and surprise, I got the stimulation I had programmed for. Having been coached, I think about all of the coaches and clients that could benefit from being under the microscope a bit more. We COULD get better results. We COULD be more detail oriented. It IS all about effort, but very well directed effort. If you think there is more to gain with your training and you can serve your clients better, come join us on April 12th for Chris presentation on Hypertrophy Training. Link in Bio for Sign Up. It's 2025, guys. You gotta know the Science of Size.

It's like trying to have a conversation, and they just keep changing the subject. We have to advance in the story and actually improve our overall ability for everything. Not all at once, and with some ebbs and flows, but the overall score should be climbing. If your clients have been in the same place for years.... You get it.
