Topsy turvy year this has been but always grateful for people coming together in an attempt to make meaning out of this absurdity. A massive thanks to my friends who came from all corners of the country and the world to partake in this mad process with me. And a big big big shoutout to my mum and sister for leading the film. From having you family on set, to filming in your childhood home to working with Calcutta crew, this is indeed been a learning curve. Most of times I have no clue of what I’m actually doing, but thanks to each and everyone who kept me grounded and dared to believe in this madness with me. It’s hard, it’s really fucking hard to dream of making films, but we’re still here and doing it. Now moving onto the editing room with a belly full of experience - as we know filming is only 20% or less of it all. That’s a Wrap on our short The Haze! Surreal. @farewellshortfilm2023 has been shortlisted for @youngdirectoraward The Young Director Award has supported and promoted debuting international talent in film production in 1998 and is recognised as the most important fringe event at Cannes Lions. Turned 29 on that note😵‍💫

This is a really special occasion, otherwise I wouldn’t do this. @filmschoolfest has been one of most important film festivals in Europe for young filmmakers, screening graduation films from von Trier, Vinterberg, Maren Ade - these are people who shaped my world at one point. This year I was able to witness films from 21 countries and meet some amazing humans from everywhere and the common language among us being love, kindness and ofocurse FILM. The jury this year was headed by Ildikó Enyedi (dir. On Body and Soul) and I fucking adore her films. It’s so odd that now I can see so many similarities in our films, the use of music as an object, the symbolism of dreams, yada yada, the point is we slowly start gravitating towards what we manifest. I am deeply touched by the audience response for our little film. It’s very complicated to carve out a space for oneself in this big filmic world. And in Munich I was able to share a piece of my world with everyone. Thank you so much for the time of my life @filmschoolfest @hffmuenchen @filmfestmunich @munichfilmup Congratulations my peers and to each and everyone who made this experience heartwarming. I was honoured to share this genuine moment with @sasmassieuart who had a special mention for her animated film I Was Attacked. Thank you everyone who was part of this film in any small or big way. A Little Love @alittlelovefilm — a feature documentary currently in development. Meet the Team: director Soham Kundu @sohamcantdo and producer Saif Khan @thelifesynonym — the idea brewed at a dinner table on the last day of @producerland.community @wavesfilmbazaarindia Producers lab, 2025. We have been developing this project since December 2025, and it has now been officially selected for its first film market, the @fifoi.officiel Market 2026, as one of eight projects to pitch in the feature section. It started with a sample loop that I'd stumbled across, and Sukruth dressed it up beautifully. Snapshots of experiences from my myself and some friends, compiled into a song. After @the_writers_ink_institute and Step Up with @uk_screenskills I’m quite delighted to be sharing this dear dear project at the NFDC Producers Lab. Coming from a place of producing my own work along with balancing multiple roles in a project, I’ve found the scarcity of resources and knowledge sharing. There’s so less out there about the art of producing and I’m quite grateful to be in this space and this cohort. To more learning and growing 🥂 Big up @producerland.community @nfdcindia @storicultureworld @wavesfilmbazaarindia for this platform. I’ll always remember what one of my favourite filmmakers - Athina Rachel Tsangari said to us during the RIFF Talent Lab, that if you’re developing your script by yourself, you’re already doing the Producer’s job, so never leave that credit.

About The Director : Soham is an Indian-born writer/director/producer and founder of Half-Half Films. He studied at University of the Arts London upon being awarded the JN Tata scholarship. His graduation-short, 'Love, Death, and Everything In Between,' won the ‘Prix Interculturel Award’ at the 41st Film SchoolFest Munich after premiering at the London Indian Film Festival. Soham's latest short 'Farewell' has been selected for BAFTA Qualifying SQIFF, Oscar Qualifying Tasveer Film Festival and nominated for a Young Director Award at Cannes Lions, British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) Award and 1.4 Awards.
