From the universe’s vastness, what are the odds of a world this alive, this beautiful? Our stardust home is a miracle. Let’s treat it as one. 🌌🌊 Photo taken under authorization ARRETE 3327 - MPR_DIREN aboard @mooreamoanatours #planetocean #blueplanet #whale #humpbackwhale #wildlife

Some of my favorite pictures of last spring – 2025. If there is a place in the world that has truly hooked me with its incredibly biodiverse marine wildlife, it is Baja California Sur. 🌊🌵✨ I called this place home for three months in 2023, and ever since then, I’ve changed.. my life has changed. I’ve come back every year since. There has always been something very familiar here. I don’t know if this would have been possible if my life hadn’t crossed paths with my dear friend @misterio_mx , who generously invited me into her home back in 2019. 🫂 I also want to thank everyone who has always supported me. Instagram can be a powerful tool, and I’m very grateful for every message, comment, like, and feedback. Thank you to my friends in this community who trust me and sometimes join me on tours, and a big thanks to this legend I’m lucky to have taking my best cover photos, @mekanphotography #BajaCaliforniaSur #SeaofCortez #MobulaRays #SeaLife #MarineWildLife

Baja California Sur classics, under and above the water 🌊🌵 This peninsula has a unique natural and geological energy. Shaped by tectonic activity, rich marine ecosystems, and vast, calming landscapes… it’s no wonder it attracts so many animals and makes people feel instantly at peace. #bajacalifornia #bajacaliforniasur #seaofcortez #mardecortés #marinewildlife

Blue water and mobulas munkiana are a rare combination. They usually move with upwelling-driven currents, where deep, cold, nutrient-rich waters rise to the surface, creating dense plankton blooms where they filter-feed on zooplankton (tiny crustaceans and larvae). But toward the end of their migration, we have a better chance of finding these mobula aggregations out in the open blue and as you can see in the third photo, some are heavily pregnant, but that doesn’t stop them from jumping 🙃 On board with @laventanadivecenter #mobularays #marinewildlife #seaofcortez #underwaterphotgraphy #sonyalpha

We are not separate from nature, just disconnected from it. Bodies of water, shaped differently, thriving in connection yet turning into takers when we feel apart, reshaping life to fit our comfort. Orcas live in societies, pass down knowledge, carry cultures we will never fully grasp, and still we don’t understand the depths of our own consciousness. 🧠💫 So how can we measure theirs? They came close, curious, aware and I couldn’t explain it. Maybe that’s the discomfort: not the mystery of them, but the limits of us. Because if walking in another’s path reveals the unknown, then the greatest illusion we carry is that we were ever separate at all. ♾️ On board with @laventanadivecenter ⛵️and huge thanks to @angie_dives for capturing these behind-the-scenes moments ✨ #OrcaCommunity #MindTheOcean #Orcapod #Orca #OceanWildLife

The craziest thing just happened to me.. 🤯 We were waiting for our turn to get in the water with the five orcas swimming around, about 200 meters behind the other boats. I was sitting on the edge of the boat, fins touching the water, checking my gear. I had just taken my brand new Osmo 6 out. When I turned it on, it was still asking me to swipe right to skip the tutorial. So I opened the case to do it. When I looked down.. There was an orca right beneath me. 🐼 While I was trying to process what I was seeing, my Osmo 6 slipped out of the housing and dropped straight into the water. At the same time, the orca started playing with my fin, mouth open like a curious puppy– MOST INSANE MOMENT OF MY LIFE !!! I didn’t even manage to jump in to recover the camera. So somewhere down there in the ocean, there’s a brand new Osmo 6 that was never used before. Moments like this are priceless and never expected. 🤍✨ Shout out to @angie_dives for being such a great drone pilot and getting the drone to the scene so fast from far away as soon as he realized what was going on. #orca #killerwhale #oceanwildlife #marinewildlife #underwaterphotography

This past year, I had the pleasure of encountering silky sharks offshore in Baja California Sur, surrounded by swirling schools of fish and with a super curious behavior. 🐟 From my experience, they become more curious and confident when they’re in groups, coming closer to check us out. It turned into an excellent opportunity to capture some of my closest shots of them. 🦈 #silkyshark #Carcharhinusfalciformis #sharkencounter #pelagicshark #saveoursharks
