And thank you to @wildandchappy for your eagle eye regarding our couch needs. Our buddy @localpoorboy aka Edmonton based ‘ABSOLUTE MEGA HUNKO’ styled and modelled for this shoot. I’m so happy you were able to be part of this project, dood! You knocked it out of the park. Alex plays in a band called @123fkb who recently released a new song that will smuggle heinous amounts of “catchy” straight into your eardrums. Added some textures, movement, some strings and synth. 🎵 NEW MUSIC 🎵 ‘You Will’ is a deeply personal song for me. Like the lyrics themselves it came out of one of those late nights where sleep feels impossible and your mind keeps pulling you deeper into your thoughts. I had worked out the piano part earlier that afternoon but later that night the lyrics came to me. Faster than I could question them. I went back more than a few times to re-record the vocals and try to sing them “better.” Cleaner. Stronger. But every new take felt like I was stepping further away from the night they were created. In the end we chose the very first take. From the exact moment they were written. I think you can hear it in there. There a hesitation from the weight of hearing those words out loud for the first time and the process of understanding them as they’re happening. I was nervous about sharing this part of myself. The notes I’m singing aren’t perfect. They’re a little shaky in places. But they’re also honest. And for me that was the whole point of this song. To share a real moment. One that I find myself returning to night after night. 🛋️

In two weeks we have a new tune coming out. 🎵 It’s called “You Will” and it’s the most personal song I’ve ever written. Singing the lyrics over and over was a painful experience so the take that we used in the final version of the song is the take from the moment I wrote it at 2 o’clock in the morning.
