#FatVanityCheckpoint @sparklejams I still struggle with finding a reason to love being fat. Before I was given a chance to form relationships with my changing body, I was told how it was wrong. I now see the world the way my peers (then and now) saw it/see it: I see the ways you are “wrong” before I see the person. Part of undoing this is finding compassion for it but honestly, I hate it. I resent their ideals like an unwanted guest. I’m still angry about the ways they put my body on display without my consent.
So here’s my body, on display, with my consent. Enjoy! I certainly am.

I’ve been buying CDs for the car again. Many of my favs were stolen out of my car years ago and I just never got around to replacing them until now. A lot of these are new favs that I’m owning for the first time. (Not pictured but I bought yesterday: Shakira “Laundry Service”, Evanescence “Fallen” and Steely Dan “Can’t Buy a Thrill”)

Merry Christmas Eve my friends and neighbors. @natalienicole24601 and I are in a new home this year and indeed, it feels like home. Love is spreading into the corners, opening cupboards to see what’s inside, giggling with awe.
We’ve taken to calling this a Liminal Christmas - we’re between traditions, old and new all at once and once it settles, it will all be different. But I’m excited to see where this goes - all the curious apprehension of trusting something or someone new in your life enough to let them surprise you with how much they get you and see you.
Admittedly, there is loneliness and sadness and grief, but they are always around this time of year anyway. Natalie and I have been through it all and we make space for these things in each others lives. We have long talks, we make each other hot tea anytime of day upon request. We are very much in love.
Forgive us for being relatively removed from the public social life! We’ve been through a lot and recuperating. Thinking of all of you often, so grateful for the people in my life, great and small. With some luck and love I’ll be parading the streets this Spring in a crop-top, wielding my masculine, weirdly-earned confidence while Natalie stands close by looking effortlessly whimsical and slightly aloof, probably playing Balatro. See you then!
