Is that a custom wedding band stack with hands wearing a jade bangle and a dog fetching a jade ball?? Yes, yes it is.
I had too much fun conceptualizing/carving these wedding bands. My client wanted one of the rings to pay homage to her mom, who gifted her with the jade bangle she wears currently, and one ring to pay homage to her dog, Valentine.
Beyond figuring out how to carve the pieces, I loved figuring out how to make and loop a mini jade bangle onto the ring. Thank you to Lydia for the commission š
The rumors are true! Carnelian fuyus have dropped on the site. Like their sister, these gems have been lovingly hand-carved to the perfect fuyu shape.
We have a limited number of ready-to-ship fuyus, so grab them while theyāre hot. All other orders will be taken on a pre-order basis and ready to ship early February.
Fond of modern, sleek lines and smooth curves, Jessica and Patrick wanted a set of engagement rings that fit together as a set, but were also individually unique.
Not too far into our conversation, it became clear that finding ways to integrate jade seamlessly would be the main goal. The classic jade band served as our inspiration.
The end result was two slightly different pieces of jade cut from the same rough and inlaid in 18k. Carved on the outside of the bands is the character for double happiness, and on the insides of the bands are the coupleās respective surnames.
Thank you to Jess and Pat for the honor to collaborate on these. Wishing you two many happy years ahead.
Two of my best friends got married this past weekend and we made the groomsmen signets in sterling silver hand-engraved with gothic lettering as part of the celebration.
Love is real because Iāve seen it with Gen and Molly. Thank you for allowing us entry into the beautiful world you two have created š
The Chinese tradition of gifting newborn children 24k gold jewelry represents wishes of good health, longevity, wealth, and protection from evil spirits. A client approached me wanting to repurpose the gold gifted to them into pendants for the women of her family.
We designed a layout of a bat, a magpie, and plum blossoms, plum being the same character as my clientās momās family name, and hand-carved it in relief on the face of the pendants. On the opposite side, the names of my clients sisters and sister in law are carved in their motherās handwriting, while the motherās pendant is carved with her childrenās zodiac animals.
Despite not playing sports growing up, Iāve always been fascinated by the culture surrounding it ā the dedication, the tradition, and above all, the celebratory nature of sports.
That unabashed sense of celebration accompanying victory or accomplishment has always fascinated me. The ability to so earnestly celebrate and be unashamed of accomplishment is so rare in so many other arenas.
Iām excited to debut the first installation of this collection ā the Award Ribbon Pendant ā and hope it serves as a reminder to celebrate accomplishments big and small ā whether for yourself or for others.
It can be worn alone or stacked for real ābest in showā energy. Regardless of the occasion, I hope it serves as a reminder to be proud of yourself and what you have accomplished.
The Ribbon Pendant is live now on our site.
āAll four rings in this photo were made by youā. Iāve had the joy of working with this couple for a few years now. What started as a ring she wanted to make for him turned into a ring he wanted to make for her and finally, mutual engagement rings š
Cut from the same piece of jadeite, his ring is a chunky signet set with the gem and hers is a toi e moi with a champagne brown diamond.
So grateful for the opportunity to make these pieces and grateful for @kennnethtan for the photos.
Pair of pink gold wedding bands inspired by the Chinese folktale, The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. The story is a one of a forbidden love between a cowherd and a weaver girl. Banished to opposite sides of the heavenly river, the two were only able to reunite once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month when a flock of magpies would form a bridge for the two.
We chose to represent this tale through hand engraved with ruyi clouds on the exterior of the pieces and eight magpies circling around the interior of the band.
Iāve always loved how much of the hand of the maker comes through with engraving. It adds a certain sense of warmth and human touch to a piece that can sometimes be hard to find within jewelry where precision and perfection are also heavily valued. That combined with the glint of the engraved lines make the clouds feel even more alive and dynamic.
With its icy, white, and reflective tone, platinum amplifies the brilliance of a diamond. In terms of settings, platinum is a great choice due to its lack of metal memory and its denseness. Itās also, in my opinion, exceptionally fun when paired with yellow gold.
Pictured is a 2ct natural diamond platinum bezel and yellow gold engagement ring. The boldness of the signet shape and the mixed metal execution makes this ring a very ācool girlā engagement ring. So happy I got to bring this to life.
Custom jadeite wedding bands unified in shades of blue and platinum. One band in a watery blue-green Guatemalan jadeite and one in a frosty silver-blue Burmese jadeite.
Broke out these two old favorites to wear today, feeling very new year appropriate šā¤ļøāš„
