Unit 2: Camp as Mainstream Infiltration
This unit maps camp’s subterranean currents: how theatrical excess, strategic bad taste, and queer parody evolve from insurgent practice into the language of mass culture. This is a forensic excavation of aesthetics-as-tactics: guerrilla performance, affective sabotage, and the uneasy commerce of style. Each film will be paired with a tight seminar introduction and as always a take home drinking game!
