Everything here is handcrafted with care, especially their signature soufflé pancakes made fresh daily with imported Japanese flour. Light, fluffy, and worth every bite.
The eggs benedict was a standout. That savory, buttery combo with the airy pancakes just works. And do not skip the matcha soft serve. That vibrant green swirl with boba lava is as fun as it is delicious.

I recently visited Softbite in LIC and was genuinely impressed by the entire experience. The menu blends Japanese-inspired comfort food with a modern touch, and every dish felt intentional and well executed. We began with the Mango Matcha, Raichi Mojito, and Yuzu Iced Tea — each refreshing, balanced, and distinct in flavor. The Chicken Karaage was perfectly crisp and tender while the Nori Fries were savory and incredibly addictive. The Niku Udon Soup was rich and comforting and the Miso Salmon was cooked beautifully with a delicate glaze. We concluded with the Softbite Crème Pancakes and Vanilla Soft Serve which provided the perfect sweet finish. Softbite offers more than dessert — it delivers a complete dining experience worth revisiting.

Walked into this cozy wooden-style café in Long Island City and instantly felt that slow-living vibe… soft lighting, warm tones—makes you want to sit down and treat yourself.
I came specifically for their two new items:
☁️ Cloud Egg Sukiyaki & 🍎 Caramel Apple Crème — and both are super photogenic and surprisingly good.
☁️ Cloud Egg Sukiyaki
A fluffy cloud-like egg on top, literally wobbling like it’s about to melt. Underneath? Sliced beef, tofu, and veggies simmering away in sukiyaki broth.
Once it starts bubbling, mix the cloud egg gently into the beef and veggies… the sweet-savory flavor is peak Japanese winter comfort.
But the best part? When you’re almost done, the staff turns the leftover broth into a Japanese-style porridge with rice, egg, and scallions 🥚🍚. That final bowl is pure happiness—rich, cozy, and so addictive.
🍎 Caramel Apple Crème
My surprise favorite of the day. The caramel aroma + apple sweetness is perfectly balanced, creamy but not heavy, and honestly so pretty on camera.
Also tried their curry rice, Niku Udon soup, Very Matcha, Strawberry Matcha, and Ube Latte — all solid and great for a cozy lunch or afternoon treat.
If you’re looking for a photogenic, warm, and comforting winter meal in NYC, the Cloud Egg Sukiyaki is a MUST. ☁️🔥

The new Cloud Egg Sukiyaki at @softbiteus is everything you need this winter. Their sukiyaki is so warming and delicious; and this is the only place I’ve seen do the fluffy cloud egg on top!
After you finish your sukiyaki, they’ll add in rice and seasoned egg to create a bonus porridge.
For $37, this was a ton of food and such a good deal!

so comforting!!! very perfect for winter
if you haven’t had sukiyaki before: think hot pot with beef but it’s sweet and savory! (similar flavor profile to oyakodon or gyudon ish)
🍠 souffle pancakes and soft serve combo:
wow the one of the lightest souffle pancakes I’ve had, melted in my mouth
had an interesting aftertaste i think it was from the egg whites? but i enjoyed it
🍎 + they have a seasonal caramel apple souffle pancake that i did not try
tons of other options like savory souffle pancakes, udon, katsu sando, japanese curry, etc
