It’s always exciting to see work coming in for an upcoming exhibit! “Human”, works by Emily Potts and Emily Steinberg, opens this Saturday May 16th from 5 to 8 pm. The Artists will be speaking during the reception. This will be the last exhibit for this 2025-2026 exhibition season so we hope you are able to attend! Emily Potts Emily Steinberg “HUMAN” May 16th through June 13th, 2026 Opening Reception: Saturday, May 16th from 5 to 8 pm Using a variety of media, both Emily Potts and Emily Steinberg present ideas concerning vulnerability and resilience, human frailty and strength in playful, often humorous, honest ways while incorporating visceral textures and beauty. Emily Steinberg is a visual artist and graphic memoirist whose work bridges painting and autobiographical narrative. Trained at the University of Pennsylvania (MFA, BFA, and BA), her practice explores memory, illness, history, identity, and the emotional textures of everyday life through both traditional and comic-based forms. Her paintings and narrative works have been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across the United States and internationally. Her visual narratives have appeared in major publications including The New Yorker. Steinberg’s visual narrative work is closely associated with the field of graphic medicine, contributing to award-winning projects including Menopause: A Comic Treatment, which received an Eisner Award. She lives just outside Philadelphia. Emily Potts is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice gives material form to invisible and chronic conditions. Emily’s research focuses on the relationship between the brain, the mind, and the body in connection to function and disruption of internal and external processes. Her work has been exhibited at notable institutions regionally and nationally such as New York Academy of Art New York, NY, Mid-South Sculpture Alliance’s Confab 2023 at the University of Oklahoma School of the Visual Arts, Norman, OK, the SAA Visual Arts Center, Union Street Gallery, InLiquid Gallery, LHUCA. Potts received an MFA in sculpture in 2022 and teaches at Michigan State U. @ejsteinberg @freespiral_
