Soft Bait are playing The 95bFM Christmas Party on Friday 12 December 🎄
Soft Bait are a four-piece from Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland, New Zealand) making off-centre post-punk that barrels forward with restless momentum. Since forming in 2020, they’ve built a reputation off the back of electric live shows, sharp lyricism, and a knack for turning everyday absurdities and half-remembered pop culture into something worth shouting about.
Now signed to Flying Nun Records with their second album Life Advice, a fast, hook-heavy record full of noise, nerves, and lines that stick in your head like bad advice from a good mate.

What would you do to recruit a singer for your new band? The answer for Patrick of Soft Bait was getting a tattoo just to trap Josh into talking with him for enough time to convince him to say yes. Two albums and a national tour or two later and I found myself sitting with the band ahead of their Ōtautahi show recording the latest Mt Noise Podcast. Listen to the full interview on Substack or YouTube now!
Gearing up for the final 2 shows of the tour. Ōtautahi and Ōtepoti up next. Tickets are selling fast so don’t say we didn’t warn you.
