My Barrel Dress by @theassemblylineshop is ready for summer — now I’m just hoping the warmer days will come back soon. I made it in a denim designer leftover from @1000stoff , and I really love the quality and the color. The dress has such a beautiful silhouette and can be sewn either with or without sleeves. I chose the sleeveless version. The waist tie is optional — I actually left it out at first, but once the dress was finished, it turned out much wider than expected. So I unpicked the side seams and added the tie afterwards. Now I really like the fit. Finished my Wells worker jacket by @trendschnitt — and I wanted to share the final result here. I really like the unisex fit: relaxed, practical, and easy to wear. I also love the clever construction. The jacket is unlined, but all seams are finished as flat-felled seams, so the inside looks just as clean and considered as the outside. What to do with loose cord ends? When it suits the project, I like to dip them in liquid rubber to keep them from fraying. It comes in different colors — I currently have red and white, and black is definitely next on my list. It’s fun to use and gives the cord ends a clean, finished look. After a few rounds of testing, it’s final: the Hana Phone Bag is ready. I kept it simple, refined the details, and focused on a clean finish: - No lining, but a tidy inside thanks to French seams - Added a small inner pocket - Folded + topstitched outer edges to help the shape stay crisp Same folded base, two variations: 1. (Light beige) Cord strap crossbody 2. That halo effect ❤️ Currently obsessed with this red Halo Scarf by @spektakelstrik I used 2 and a half skeins, which made my Halo a little larger than the smaller version. My first smartPATTERN trousers, and I’m pretty happy with how they turned out. I made the HB01 business trousers by @smartpattern after first spotting them on Lara from @1000stoff — then immediately ordered this designer leftover cotton twill from @1000stoff . Love the fabric. Such a great pattern and a really well-made tutorial. The fit is great, but for the next version I’d go for a slightly looser look: one size up, a bit more length in the leg (probably around 3 cm added for me). I think the pattern is meant to be a little cropped, but I’d still prefer them a touch longer on my body. New make: Pattern No.67 by @trendschnitt — a padded vest with crisp lines and a bit of a Japanese workwear feel. ✂️ I made mine in sturdy denim.The original design includes a drawstring casing, but I left it out this time — my denim is quite stiff, and I loved the clean, sculptural shape without it. What I really adore: the sharp, angular silhouette, the minimal seams, and how the clever construction keeps the inside just as clean as the outside. Testing a smaller version of the HANA Tote ✂️ A little crossbody / phone bag — same folds, new proportions. Here you see the sample-making process: folding, sewing, and the first finished prototype. Next up I’ll make a few more test versions to try different details: skipping the lining and finishing the inside with binding, plus exploring alternative ways to attach the cord / shoulder strap. 1000stoff, TAUKO & Friends! Wir hatten so ein inspirierendes und interessantes Event in unserem Laden am letzten Wochenende! Damit wir dieses Mal nicht (schon wieder) die Gruppenfotos der Designerinnen vergessen, gab’s ein kleines Shooting vorab bei uns im Hof und @holycowsberlin hat versucht uns alle ins Bild zu dirigieren. Hat geklappt👍. Aber die Suche nach der richtigen Position war auch schon äußerst lustig 😀, wie man auf den folgenden Bildern sehen kann! . . Im Bild:: Mila, Gründerin des @taukomagazine Anke und @_anja.78 von @smartpattern und Designerinnen der Hose TAUKOKEJA, Mashal @swingandsew , Designerin des Mantels TAUKOSHALLI, Regina @soft.fold.studio , Designerin der Tasche TAUKOTAMI, Sarah, Inhaberin von @selu_sewing sowie einige Mitgliederinnen der Make and Share Community @meingewissesetwas , @verenaquelle und @elbmiezen . Zum anschließenden Event im Laden wurde es dann deutlich voller und richtig lebendig. Jede Designerin hat sich und ihr TAUKO Projekt selbst vorgestellt. Man durfte alles anfassen und anprobieren. Es gab 7 Shallis, 6 Centrefolds, mindestens 5 Tamis und mindestens 7 Kejas 💥💥💥 . Es war sehr inspirierender Tag! Wir haben gute Gespräche geführt und neue Pläne geschmiedet. Ich habe so viele Leute wieder getroffen, die ich schon seit Jahren kenne und neue kennen gelernt. Ich bin noch immer ganz beseelt! Herzlichen Dank fürs Kommen an alle! Bilder von innen folgen. .
