Itās taken me a while to work up the confidence to do this- because for many reasons, sharing my music with the world feels terrifying.
I started working on this record in 2020. It started with some ideas that came to me as I was falling asleep or waking up, strange melodies and chord progressions from that in-between place. And then I was given a demo tape of songs that my dad wrote and recorded before he passed away. The tape was pretty warbly sounding and I couldnāt really make out all of the lyrics. After some reworking, two of those songs made it on this record. Itās been through a lot and itās finally out in the world today. The record is called āIn Curved Airā

Today my momās double LP āEarthly Pleasuresā comes out on @dragcityrecords ā¼ļø @jillfrasermusic
She took a bunch of old revival style hymns and dissected them, rearranged them, deconstructed them, and reinterpreted them for her serge modular synthesizer system that she built herself. Imagine if aliens or artificial intelligence was trying to play this music somehow. Thatās kind of what it sounds like. Itās really beautiful. Iām so proud of her. Go listen to it wherever you listen to music, or even better- buy the record!!!
