The 2025 wedding season has come to an end, and I’m sitting in gratitude, thinking about the little girl who’s bedroom wallpaper was filled with flowers, my daydreams rooted in beauty, never knowing how long the road back to them would be.
Life led me elsewhere first. A career in finance. Becoming a CPA. Graduate school. Then a psychologist, listening, learning, holding space for others. All work that shaped me deeply, even when flowers felt like a distant whisper.
And yet, they never left me. They waited.
Sofie’s Blooms is not just a business, it’s a return. A coming home to what my heart always knew.
Extremely grateful for the couples who trusted us with a day so sacred, who believed in my vision, for venues that became canvases, for my wholesaler and local growers and their flowers that showed up beautifully, for my incredible team, for our daughter Sofie who was back this season to prep every stem, for the talented photographers that allow us to still smell the flowers long after the petals are gone, and for the quiet moments after it all when I finally get to pause, breathe and reflect and thankful for the little girl who found her way back to flowers.
Thank you to everyone and to a God and love of flowers that allowed our paths to cross this year, and for those that remind me that creating beauty is sacred work.

Chicago will always hold a piece of our hearts. We lived 2 blocks from The Drake (in a 550 sq ft studio apt) for 4 years while Tim was in medical school. We attended a wedding in 1994 for Tim’s classmates in the same ballroom! A full circle life moment.

When an incredibly talented wedding photographer becomes a bride, it’s a florist dream. Our time spent together in the studio designing and dreaming was some of my sweetest moments of 2025. Our text thread was a creative explosion!
The bride and groom’s elegant blue wedding details were beautifully woven throughout the day and the florals were designed to echo that vision with thoughtful intention.
