If you know me (or have even spoken to me like twice) you know being adopted from Colombia is a core part of who I am and has always been very important to me. When I reconnected with my birth mother Sonia 4 years ago, I could have never dreamed of how beautiful this experience would be. This year for my 30th, my family was able to finally come meet my biological family. I met my biological father Luis and my little brother for the first time. I feel complete witnessing all the love my entire family has for each other and all the support I’ve experienced through this process. Today I turn 30 and all my dreams have come true and more! 💛 Next is party time for all my beautiful friends who met up with us here to experience mi bello Cali 🇨🇴🥂
last weekend I moved out of my first solo apartment. I said goodbye to my charming little one bedroom in west philly which held so many memories and lessons. living alone has been so special and important in my journey and I would recommend it to any woman who’s able. now I’m in a beautiful new space, looking forward to decorating and making a home for myself (and Cleo 🥰). I’ve been calling this my sex and the city era so let’s see what it brings me 😚✨🌆
my brother’s work is in an art exhibit - and I’m the subject 🥹💞💐
my family pulled off a complete surprise when we went to visit his art in Rochester - his pieces were about me. two photos from our visit to Spain and a beautiful letter on me being a role model for embracing our cultural roots 💛 I’m so grateful to be his sister and be inspired by his creativity and boldness. I’M EVERYTHIIIIING! 🤩
I’ve always said each year gets better than the last. I understand myself more, I love myself more, I experience more and build stronger relationships. Those things are all still true, but 2024 was… not a breeze to say the least. I had to lean on my patience, independence, adaptability, responsibility and vulnerability in new, challenging ways. I look back at the year with lots of love but wouldn’t feel right without acknowledging that things went left SEVERAL TIMES.
I still managed to wear less and go out more 😉✈️💃🏽 and can remember many joy-filled, healing moments laughing with friends and family. I especially remember my birthday, I got to hear everyone say what love about me (I cried the whole time) and I will cherish that forever!
Headed in to 2025 I want to free myself to make mistakes proudly, fully accept love from those around me and discover more reasons to say “yes” than “no.” Thanks for coming along for the ride 🥂
