Our time was short, but impactful. If only I had more time to speak with you, I would’ve told you that I, too, learned all about life with a ball at my feet. Football was always joy for me - more than a game; it’s my breath, my escape, my home. But it was also my anchor when life felt dark.
After losing my brother and my grandfather in my early years, those were some of the hardest times I ever faced. But when I was on the pitch, I could forget that pain, if only for a moment.
You taught me to never lose that childishness, to stand by joy even when the world tried to drag me down with lies or doubt. You fought so hard to live life your way, despite all the hate, criticism, and pain. And because of that joy, you carried me, and so many others, with you.
You carried a legacy you never expected, simply by being yourself. Through football and through life, I never lost my joy because of you. You played with freedom, love, and a smile, never needing to prove anything, even after winning it all. In a system that tries to mold or shape you, you stayed true to yourself always.
Some players inspire trophies. Some inspire generations. You inspired my life. Thanks Ronnie, for just simply being you.
