Door 2025 heen gescrolld

El año de la serpiente me trajo fichajes nuevos, reencuentros con los antiguos, unos cuantos proyectos que me hicieron crecer aún más como artista, una cola de sirena, un gorro de bruja y unos dientes de perro, una habitación, un desarrollo de personaje cualitativo y demasiados buenos momentos como para reducirlos a un carrusel de fotos. Y así ya van 3 años en Ámsterdam, 3 años de ser un poco más local que un turista, pero todavía demasiado turista para los locales 🤍 La primera foto fue tomada por @hindele.nl , una tía chulísima que la vida puso en mi camino de nuevo hace unos meses en Berlín

De mooiste verliezer is een afstudeerwerk in de vorm van een installatie-performance. Laatste deel van de mini serie ‘Outside the box’. Al sinds een tijdje ben ik voor mezelf bezig met wat lange termijn fotografieprojecten. Maar deze serie ontstond vrij spontaan tussendoor. De aanleiding was dat ik twee maanden geleden de ruimte kreeg van de tweedejaars studenten van de AHK mime-opleiding om meer beweging in portretfoto’s te creëren. Aan de hand van deze foto’s ben ik ook eens wat verder gaan experimenteren met de nabewerking. Uiteindelijk kwam ik toevalligerwijs tot beelden die enerzijds de nieuwsgierigheid en anderzijds de spanning van kunststudenten weergeven bij het onderzoeken van hun eigen mentale en fysieke grenzen. De serie verdient nog meer verfijning en inhoudelijke verdieping maar ik ga nu eerst even mijn andere geplande projecten weer oppakken ;) - Hartelijk dank voor de studenten die hieraan meewerkten en constructief feedback gaven op mijn werkzaamheden en beelden.

Panic, exhilaration. @wijsgerigfestivaldrift On May 10th we built, performed and broke down this piece next to the Stadspaleis in the centre of Amsterdam. Many thanks to my collaborators, in particular the wonderful @sofia_devalk - who agreed to spend an hour (!) in this installation with me -, the many volunteers of Festival Drift, the clear skies and incredibly picturesque GVB. Panic, exhilaration. is a performative installation to explore the topic of human relics and the complicated relationship between our notion of ‘life’ and the image. Inspired by Japanese Butoh-theatre, where one ‘becomes the it’ (Tashi Iwaoka), this human tapestry hosts a paradoxical transformation.
