Did you know Lisbon is the second oldest city in Europe behind Athens, Greece? Yep - even older than Rome by a couple hundred years.
I spent my last day in the 3,200 year old city exploring and sightseeing some iconic monuments, experiencing some amazing Cape Verdean food, convo, and fellowship at @sofia.s.place , then I got caught in a torrential downpour during a nighttime long run/half-marathon through Lisbon!
My last day in this beautiful city was one to remember - I will definitely be back!

Como esse número se divide 9.403 pessoas vivem na rua (sem teto). 5.073 pessoas têm alojamento temporário, como abrigos ou centros de acolhimento
Esse Número que a nível mundial de mendigos / sem-abrigo sobe para Cerca de 100 a 150 milhões de pessoas vivem sem casa (homeless) no mundo.  Algumas estimativas mais amplas apontam até 318 milhões de pessoas em situação de sem-abrigo ou sem habitação adequada.

OMG the BEST TIME was had @sofia.s.place in Lisbon! Funny thing is she asked where we were from and we told her Yonkers NY and she lost it and said @jadakiss was her all time favorite rapper!!!! So what he do…. FaceTime me and give her the surprise of her life!!!!!! It’s so dope to see people all over the world appreciate our hometown GREATS! I finally made it to @sofia.s.place and it was all I was told it would be. Sofia herself made a point to tell us "I am Cape Verdean, but this is OUR restaurant. The Angolan, the Nigerian, The Mozambican, The African American, any of us who, whether through trickery and kidnapping or voluntary movement, has ended up in other parts of the world. Our food is all the same even when it's different."
She then made us do shots! 🤷🏽♀️👀
The food was DELICIOUS. And I'd already had a really strong cocktail and a glass of wine before Sofia had her daughter bring out shot glasses. Subsequently, it's 9am on a Saturday morning and I'm still in bed, where I will remain into the foreseeable future.😬 ( Some Buddhists supposed to come over to my house in a few hours. Here's hoping I'm standing upright by then.🙏🏾🤞🏾)
