💃Meet ChoCoLA 2025 Choreographer Sofia Saenz💜
Sofia Saenz is a Latina choreographer in the Los Angeles area. She began her dance journey at Pasadena Dance Theatre under Cynthia Young before moving to New York to earn her Bachelors of Science degree in Dance with minors in Management & Business and Arts Administration at Skidmore College. She was mentored by Erika Pujic and Jason Ohlberg, performing multiple works including Take Hold and The Crossing, as well as Paul Taylor’s Runes, staged by the Taylor 2 company. In 2021, she premiered her dance film Como Dice Mi Padre, marking a shift toward choreography. Upon returning to Los Angeles in 2021, Sofia founded ChoCoLA (Choreographer Collection Los Angeles), a platform dedicated to uplifting choreographic voices and building community. She continues to dance, choreograph, and cultivate an encouraging artistic community.
