“Tend your dreams, dreams take time, time goes by”
.
I deeply believe art can connect us to each other and our own humanity 💛 and at a time with such pain and fear, we need our imaginations more than ever; how could the world be?
.
The biggest thank you to @the.fearlesslife for these headshots I absolutely love and am thrilled to have them as I reenter my performer era :)

“I want my great grand daughter to know I was here.”
.
Words cannot express what it felt like to join with generations of women and march. I left with a reminder that we are not alone. We are here for each other, our neighbors, our friends, our family; and may we continue to center our humanity and uplift the most vulnerable in our communities.
.
“Our ancestors are all the proof we need, that progress is possible not guaranteed…KEEP MARCHING ON!”

I started taking videos on our walks within the first couple days of Stevie and I beginning our life together. I don’t know how to explain, but that time together felt magical, unbelievable and special.
.
It’s one of my favorite views: watching Stevie walk, engage and explore in the world. I love this little life we have together.
.
So, inspired by @simonsits and her pictures of their daily walks, I’m sharing some of my favorite moments from our walks. Some special, some mundane, some from my favorites folder, some from last week.
.
Not every walk has this enthusiasm or wonder, but I love doing the everyday with you Stevie boy 💛

“Don’t forget it for a moment though”
.
There are so many feelings swirling around, but I couldn’t help but thank my little corner of the internet for helping me get here - remember that little giveaway I posted about? With all of your support, @abby.f.middleton there to document and give moral support, and the incredible generosity of @isoltattoo , my first tattoo is here and I couldn’t be more in love.
.
My words seem to fail, but I am comforted and support by the words of Stephen Sondheim: “with so little to be sure of in this world, we had a moment. A marvelous moment.”

Romanticizing one of my favorite parts of my day.
.
My healing journey has been anything but linear and this last year has taught me how much joy can come from the little things. I’ve learned how much I can love the now & work towards a dream in the future.
.
Stevie has been a huge part of that, and I hope everyday that I can provide him with the happiest and sniffiest life :)
.
(No sniffs we’re prevented in the making of this reel)

I told myself at Christmas to start thinking of a New Years post. I like to do an end of the year reflection.
.
Then at New Years, I thought “maybe by my birthday I’ll have the words”
.
Then at my birthday I thought “maybe by my first professional choir performance” (in February).
.
Then at the performance (which was a beautiful and edifying experience), I thought “maybe after my first film project” (mid March)
.
Then after my first film project (which was filled with friends, joy and creativity), I thought “maybe by Stevie’s birthday” (beginning of April).
.
Then after Stevie’s birthday I realized I may never have the words for the last year or so. The healing journey is so far from linear, but I’m pretty grateful for this pup who is my constant and light, for friends and family who love through this journey, for mental health support and resources #therapyiscool, for singing which is slowly returning as a positive and joyful expression.
.
In the words of Andre DeSheilds, “slow is the fastest way to get where you are going.”

An old picture to encapsulate this year of my life. I haven’t had a chance to reflect on or even process 27, but here we are stepping into 28 😶
.
I guess we just close our eyes and take a step, right?
Ghost trend: Central Park edition

“The opposite of play is not work - the opposite of play is depression.” {Dr. Stuart Brown}

Get yourself a friend like @michelle.lauriane who will not only provide the white sheet but will say “heck yes” & walk through Central Park and style you as a ghost to fulfill some inner child dreams💛
