You never know what they’re looking for, right? You know where you’re at, and just offer whatever you’ve got. Just go for it. And then fake the rest as best as you can.
When we were told that we got in, my first thought was holy shit I did it. My second thought was, oh my god, I’ve been caught. I’ve lied so severely to all of them and I can’t actually do any of this and they’re gonna find out SO quick and it’s gonna be so bad for me. 😂 Okay here we go, let’s see how quickly they find out that I’ve scammed them.
All you can do is your best. And I think I showed my absolute best here. And I think my best got better too.
Sometimes the thing you build up in your head shows up in a different way. When I got what I was offered, I wondered if I was going to be able to show all that I wanted to show of myself to everyone, or if this experience would fall just short of me being able to do that…. I think I got to do more than I ever bargained for with the way things panned out.
On paper, I don’t think I really fit into this show. So to Karla, JM, Jamie, Farley, Lani, Chris, thank you for carving out a space in this show for me. In this company, in this magical cast. I feel like I won the lottery.
I’m in love with 27 more people and it’s going to be a big problem for me. I haven’t felt so inspired in so long, and that’s because of all of you. It was an honor to be able to dance alongside all of you, and to be singing our songs in the wings while I got to watch my favorite show every night. You all are so beautiful, and you made a beautiful show.
A Chorus Line is one of the new great loves of my life - a former infatuation turned into an intense whirlwind fling with an inevitable end. But the body remembers, and my muscles will forever carry the beautiful memory of our golden dance. And in the future, all it will take is one step, one kick, one touch, one singular sensation to take me back to this dream. A dream that I’ll try to remind myself was real.
I loved it with everything I had. I surrendered to it, and found a new family, a new me, and a renewed me. Time to let go now. Kiss today goodbye, and point me towards tomorrow!!! 💛🎩

Fil-Am artist Anyah de Guzman trained at Osceola County School for the Arts, earning acting nominations for Guys & Dolls and West Side Story. She has performed in Willy Wonka, Les Misérables, Shrek The Musical & debuted in the PH as Snow White.
