The new issue of my Eisner-nominated autobiographical comic series So Buttons: Who’s My Daddy & What Does He Do? is coming to Kickstarter.
Kickstarter has already tagged it as a Project We Love, which is incredibly exciting.
It’s a standalone issue about fathers: real, creative, and unexpected, illustrated by an amazing group of artists.

What a brilliant way to start a weekend. A massive congratulations to @sobuttonscomics , whose most recent issue of his SO BUTTONS comic was just nominated for an Eisner Award (Best Anthology.) It’s his ‘Life and Death’ issue, with several quite personal stories about important people in his life that had recently passed. I was quite humbled when he asked me to illustrate the story of his mom’s passing for this issue, joining many other brilliant cartoonists. A much deserved nomination!! Well done, Jonathan!

Found out I’m part Japanese. Traced it back to the 1600s. Turns out: samurai.
So naturally, I made an origami helmet.
Late pledges for the So Buttons foil edition close Monday. Link in bio.
Over 20 years, I’ve only done this three times. Presenting someone else’s work that I didn’t write. Noah Van Sciver, Josh Bayer, and this time for Carol Tyler.

Carol had mentioned that she had some loose pages that she hadn’t published and Justin had just passed away. I had this idea to put a page in the book and also create some prints to sell where all money went towards Justin’s funeral and I sold them at the Small Press Expo (SPX).

There’s an extra specific reason I placed the page in my book where I did, but we’ll have to break bread to hear that tale.

Enjoy a So Buttons Presents featuring a one-pager by the amazing Carol Tyler.
