Our second son was born on 10th December — Zane Rafael. Our hearts are bursting yet again, and we are so grateful for our little boy, humbled by the privilege it is to get to be his parents. Our world has changed once more, and we couldn’t be happier. With Zane being born so close to Christmas, it’s got me thinking about the reality of Jesus coming as a baby. We know the story, we sing the songs, but when I look at our precious little boy and see how fragile, how vulnerable he is, the reality hits me. I’m struck by how extraordinary it is that Jesus came as a baby. The Son of God, the King of Kings, the one who holds time and space, humbled himself and came as one of us — born to a mortal woman and completely dependent on his mother and father. He gave up his royalty, his might and power, and willingly came as a vulnerable little baby born in a manger amongst animals. He stepped down from heaven and into the mess of the world, and became one of us. What would drive a King to do such a thing? Love. He loved us so much that he came as one of us, to live a perfect life and be a perfect sacrifice for our sin so that we would be set free. He loves me. He loves my boy Zane. He loves you — dearly. This is the real wonder of Christmas: not the lights, the gifts, or the songs, but the humble beauty of a King who became a baby because of his love for you and me. And that love displayed 2000 years ago still cascades through our timeline today. His love is available right here, right now. “Son of God, love’s pure light.”

Here’s another behind the scenes video we made during a story shoot for @theseedcompany , this time in Mexico City! 🇲🇽 We had the honour of spending time with this incredible team who are translating the Bible into Mexican Sign Language. They made us feel at home, patiently taught us some Mexican Sign, and showed us the best local food spots (Mexican food is no joke!). We were so moved by their story and their passion to make God’s Word accessible to the Deaf community in Mexico.

Throwback to shooting at Lebombo Lodge in Kruger National Park. Nothing quite like a Boma experience at the wonderful Singita. Truly magical.
