Tips for surviving a convention weekend with chronic pain or chronic illness 💜✨ . ☑ Bring your meds + any emergency essentials ☑ Stay hydrated. Conventions are exhausting faster than you think ☑ Take as many breaks as you need (most cons like @mcmcomiccon have chill/rest spaces available) ☑ If possible, book a hotel close to the convention so you can rest or nap during the day ☑ Adapt your cosplay for comfort, COSPLAY DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ABOUT ACCURACY. Flat shoes, support insoles, mobility aids, cooling fans etc. are ALWAYS worth it ☑ Eat regularly, even if you’re busy or excited ☑ Bring snacks for energy crashes or medication timings ☑ Compression wear, braces, heat patches, or pain relief gels can genuinely save your weekend ☑ Don’t feel guilty for leaving early if your body needs it ☑ Pace yourself. You do not have to do everything in one day ☑ Plan quieter photo/rest times away from crowded areas ☑ Portable chargers are lifesavers if you rely on your phone for accessibility, maps, or emergency contact ☑ Your health matters more than cosplay accuracy 💜 .
