I think it's time to properly introduce myself !
Hi, I'm Mo :)
π€ I loooove the water. The second video is from Ruby Lake this summer. (I'm a Pisces can you tell? π)
π€ I play on an adult league with an absolutely incredible team. Many of which have been such huge supporters by being first time clients of mine as I've started doing hair.
π€ I love my e-bike. It's my main form of transportation & even through the worst rain I'll often be zipping around on it. I tried through snow one time - never again. I probably have more photos with my bike than I do with my friends and family πΈ
π€ Recently, I've enrolled in a pottery class at Douglas Park community center and I'm SO happy. I've done it in the past, but it's the first time I've done a real class since high school and it's been great.
π€ Hair is my second career (weird to think). I am also a certified elementary school teacher. I taught for about a year before I got very sick and had to reconsider my job. It was a hard choice, I love teaching & working with kids, but It's what led me to hair!
π€ I'm recovering from a concussion that happened in June. Unfortunately, I had a pretty rough one when I was 16 as well that went unchecked and this one has compounded pretty harshly with the previous one. I was on medical leave until this month & I'm slowly learning to slow down. My main symptoms are brain fog, fatigue (especially from decision making & problem solving), and intense energy highs and lows (which compound with my ADHD)
π€ I'm such an advocate for community care & support. I believe that no single person can go through life on their own, and every single person deserves to be loved & supported. Community is healing, and social change can't happen without it.
π€ trans rights are human rights, free palestine, land back, black lives matter, abolish ICE - everyone has the right to live freely and love freely.
For those new to Guest List - welcome!! We're happy to have you here :)
Our suite can be a little tricky to find, so follow along with Craig in this video to find our happy place.
Upon finding our building, enter through the main doors of the building and up the steps up ahead. If these doors are locked, call "Guest List" on the intercom and we will buzz you in. My name will NOT pop up so please make sure you search the salon name!
At the top of the stairs, turn left, go through the door, and go down the hallway all the way to "Citizen Salon". Once you are through the doors, there is a tablet on your right where you can search for "Guest List". Check in and have a seat. We will be notified and come get you and bring you to our salon.
If you have been here before - feel free to go straight to our suite and poke your head in. We might be busy finishing up between clients - but we will kindly offer you a drink for you to enjoy while you sit and wait!
Japan ft. so much food and lots of wholesome family time β€οΈ
Time absolutely flew while I was there, and I feel so whole after spending some time in my mum's home country. It's been so long and a part of me was so nervous to be back after 17 years. Being biracial is such an interesting experience. It's really cool in a lot of ways, but it can also feel lonely to not fully "fit in". The nerves went away quickly though as I felt like I was home in so many ways. I miss it already, and I miss my family. I definitely won't be waiting another 17 years to go back.
Starting May 2nd I'll be on the floor taking clients on SATURDAYS!
This will be in addition to my regular Tuesday and Friday schedule.
Saturdays are such a vibe at Guest List. Start the weekend off strong and come get your hair done β¨
Also, side note, today marks 1 year exactly since graduating hair school. Wild.
Pretty girls, boys & thems walk like this ππ»
Come book an appointment with me to get a little spring in your step with a fresh cut.
Reminder of my incredible $35 new client haircut price - you ever seen something so good in this economy?!
And if you've gotten a service done by me and have referred people - thank you x10000. It means the world and please keep telling people! Most of my new bookings have been from referrals.
Big love π«Άπ»
Who's wanting a haircut?
Hello hello! I just wanted to post an update that I'll be away from April 18-19th
I haven't been to Japan in about 17 year (wild) !! My grandma usually comes to visit my family here, but she is getting older and so it's time I go see her and revisit the city that I haven't seen since I was a kid.
It's already mid March so it's coming up quick - book in while you can! It feels like a while away but that's only 7 days that I have open to book.
πΈ Spring is brewing πΈ
