Generating his own vision for the genre. With a background in fine arts and computer science, NOVALU fuses intricate sound design, emotionally driven bass music, and a distinct artistic vision into a unique audiovisual experience. Following multiple years of producing Electronic Bass Music and a variety of emotive Electronic beats under the PÜTHUS alias, the NOVALU project ventures to manifest his audio-visual perspective with Drum & Bass. After debuting a string of singles in 2022 and 2023—including a collaboration with long-time creative partner Cuepric—NOVALU gained support from platforms like Data Transmission Drum & Bass, All172Things, and Rendah Mag. His 2023 debut EP Path to Emptiness, released via Sound Museum, featured collaborations with Cuepric and Leipzig-based artist VRUM, earning further recognition from outlets like Studio and performances at festivals including Fusion and Subardo. Later that year, he self-released his 'Veiled Ep', including his so far most successfuls track 'Veiled', a haunting and technical Drum & Bass roller that marked his most successful release to date, premiered by Studio. After a short break and production phase he returned in late 2024 - early 2025 widening his repertoire with his debut album 'Last Chance' and an unexpected new sound. An intimate and personal electronic pop album containing a variety of genres from ambient to autotune hip hop, some drum and bass, future bass and stutter house. It didn’t get much attention or many streams, but I still think it’s a very cool track that just didn’t find its audience yet. 02 Skrillex & Nai Barghouti – Xena (NOVALU DNB FLIP) I’ve always wanted to weave my Arabic roots into my music. I made this flip in a single night after hearing the original track and uploaded it the next morning. 03 NOVALU – Unlove Me This one carries a lot of personal meaning. I was going through a really rough time while writing it, and I’m eternally grateful to my friend and fellow producer Cuepric, who sensed how important this project was to me and helped bring the visuals to life. 04 NOVALU – Veiled My most successful track (based on streams). The Veiled EP as a whole has always felt like my most complete project — everything from the visuals to the mix came together beautifully and was also well received by the audience. 05 Emma Philine – Running Out of Time I contributed to the production on this one. Mohini Dey - Happy to Slap It → Cette bassiste prodige est une de mes meilleures découverte récente. Né dans les 90', il a une dizaine d'année quand le Hip-Hop se démocratise dans les foyers. Il se souvient aimer le groove et les rythmes dynamiques de la musique des années 2000. A l'adolescence, il entame son éducation musicale par le Rock et le Metal dans une démarche d'émancipation de ses pairs et à la recherche d'une identité plus marginale : habité par une rage envers les normes et les conventions sociales. S'en suit la découverte de la culture sound system avec le Dub et ses basses puissantes, une grosse claque musicale qui laissera une marque indélébile dans son esprit. Puis vient la découverte de la fête libre, la musique électronique et les free party. Encore un gros tournant dans ses goûts musicaux, il y retrouve le côté hard et marginal du métal de son adolescence. Amoureux de la nature et particulièrement du monde végétal, dans lequel il évolue professionnellement, il commencera à mixer ses premiers morceaux dans le registre Psytrance. Calme et curieux, il s'intéresse également aux musiques folkloriques des différents continents ainsi qu'à la musique ambiante et psychédélique. C'est donc naturellement qu'il se tourne vers la Bass Music : la basse faisant écho aux sound system, le snare marqué ramené du hip-hop et les rythmiques appuyées lui rappelant l'énergie de la musique amplifiée. // SNARE.LAB 🔸 @arkadrop #1 GUEST MIX WITH @jfiv3_ BIO** Jfiv3 was not particularly immersed in culture and the arts in his youth, coming from a modest family where music was mainly popular and commercial. Born in the 90s, he was around ten years old when hip-hop became popular in the home. He remembers loving the groove and dynamic rhythms of the music of the 2000s. In his teens, he began his musical education with rock and metal, in a bid to emancipate himself from his peers and find a more marginal identity, driven by a rage against social norms and conventions. This was followed by the discovery of sound system culture, with its dub and powerful bass, a huge musical blow that left an indelible mark on his mind. Then came the discovery of free parties and electronic music. This was another big turning point in his musical tastes, as he rediscovered the hard, fringe metal of his teenage years. A lover of nature and particularly the plant world, in which he worked professionally, he began mixing his first tracks in the psytrance vein. Calm and curious, he is also interested in folk music from different continents as well as ambient and psychedelic music. So it was natural that he turned to Bass Music: the bass echoing sound systems, the sharp snare brought back from hip-hop and the strong rhythms reminding him of the energy of amplified music.
