Conférence jeudi 16 avril (ce soir), à 18h30 à l'Université Paris 8 — r͟e͟t͟r͟a͟n͟s͟m͟i͟s͟s͟i͟o͟n͟ ͟e͟n͟ ͟d͟i͟r͟e͟c͟t͟ — Merci @felixmullerparis pour l'invitation !

DAZZLE — 3 days workshop at ÉSAD Amiens The aim of this workshop is to explore the creation of movement from a two-dimensional still image. The intention, based on this design challenge, is to create optical illusions between simple shapes in order to play with the perception of letters. Each letter will be designed by a student by assembling geometric shapes to generate impressions of movement and vibration. The aim is to reveal an optical phenomenon that we perceive when we read or look at these letters. Students: Frédéric Adjanohoun @siirfredo Gabriela Prieto Angel @gabriela_prt Franck Hu @franck._.hu Eloïse Malavielle Romain Bénard @romainbenard_ Noé Benais @noebenais With Eva Kubinyi Thanks to all the students! Tructure : Anne-Lise Agnès, Manon Debray, Veronika Dolia, Paul Figari, Giovanni Gil-Escriche, Gatien Giraudon, Kieran Herbé, Talia Nguyen, Vivien Nicolas, Chloé Pesson, Romane Raffestin, Madina Toure, finalisé par Anne-Dauphine Borione & Simon Renaud. #typedesign #typography #typeface #graphicdesign #handwriting

New Release: Augure Mono, Duo, and Stereo, by Simon Renaud Augure Mono, Duo, and Stereo, extend the Augure typeface by applying a rigorous logic of measurement and alignment. Augure already possesses a strong visual rhythm—a distinctive typographic “color” and a clear cadence in its drawing—and these new variants reinforce that quality through a system of character widths conceived as a regulating grid. Augure Mono is a monospaced variant in which all glyphs share a uniform width. Letters, symbols, and punctuation are aligned to the width of round lowercase characters such as o, c, and e. The original Augure design has been adapted to this constraint while maintaining legibility and formal idiosyncrasy. Augure Duo introduces a second, increased width for capitals, figures, and certain naturally broader lowercase letters such as m and w, providing them with additional space. This added width makes it possible to recover a degree of roundness that the constraint of a single width significantly compresses in some capital letters, notably O, C, and E. This second width interacts with the first through a proportional increase of one third. The resulting capital forms produce a clear alignment effect both horizontally and vertically. The visual rhythm remains governed by the same regulating metric system. Augure Stereo brings together the principles of the Mono and Duo versions within a single variable font. The second width becomes adjustable, ranging from the minimum value defined by Mono to the maximum value defined by Duo. This allows users to adapt the typeface while preserving its underlying rhythmic principle. — #typography #graphicdesign #design #typedesign #typeface #contemporarytype #tomorrow_featured #365typefaces #designeveryday #font #typeinspiration #artdirection #designfeed #goodtype #typelover #typeindex #certainmagazine #eyeondesign #augure #simonrenaud #205tf @smnrnd
