I ran into Max on the street, where he told me the whole story of how he first met Adam and what he’s got planned next.
Max had been juggling standup comedy and a busy career in finance when he got the call-up to appear in Happy Gilmore 2. Going from an audience of a couple hundred at a comedy club to thousands of extras on set, he had to learn on the job - and fast.
We discussed everything from his ongoing relationship with Sandler to being recognised as his doppelgänger from the age of eight - but the most shocking thing?

40 million. A huge milestone. 🙌
What started as a hobby during school has turned into 40 million followers, a great team and a business I’m proud of.
I’ve been building social pages for over 10 years.
For 7 of those years, I posted 30 times a day - every single day.
No breaks. No missed days. Just kept going.
It hasn’t all been smooth, but we never stopped showing up.
Now we’ve got a proper team around the world.
20+ brands.
And in 2024 across all the brands we achieved over 180 billion views.
The quality of the team is what I’m most proud of.
And when I reflect, it’s mad to see how far things have come.
We’re building beyond social now - from launching a studio to creating new shows and formats and can’t wait to share what’s next.
