“Beyond the landmarks in Rome exists another side of the city. One shaped quietly by artisans whose work lives inside churches, palazzi, and private homes. In this specific workshop, plaster becomes ornament, history, and memory. It’s a craft that has been passed down for generations, and one that is unfortunately slowly disappearing. The shop is located on Via della Luce 16 in the quieter side of the Trastevere neighborhood. Tourists are welcome to wander in, ask questions and take pictures, and while they might not be able to take home an entire replica of an ancient Roman column or statue, there is a selection of smaller pieces specifically made for people traveling who want to take back a memory and help support the shop. Documenting these spaces means preserving a part of Rome most visitors never see. And supporting them means ensuring the city doesn’t lose what makes it unique and rich in history.” — CNT Local Creator @sminchilli

Have you ever dreamed of remodeling an apartment in Rome, Italy? @sminchilli just did, let’s go inside 😍 Heating & cooling system she chose? Nothing wall hung, she went with central. First meal cooked: beef steak + sautéed agretti — agretti season has finally started. How does one move in a chaotic city like Rome? Very slowly – one car load at a time. Sophie found most of her décor on Vinted. But her favorite pots & pans are from Lagostina. For decor she went Mid-Century inspired with custom cabinetry made by an artisan in Umbria. Her dad is her architect. Her advice for remodeling in Italy? Just one word – patience.
