I’m so excited to be part of the #ANHPIBookstaTour! 🤍🏞️☀️ For those of you who don’t know, I’m Kurdish from southern Kurdistan (Bashur), and I wanted to take this moment to highlight two Kurdish stories because our voices and history are so often overlooked. Kurds are one of the largest stateless peoples in the world, over 40 million strong, yet without an officially recognized country. Our homeland spans Turkey, Iraq, Iran, and Syria, and our history is shaped by resilience and the ongoing fight for recognition. If you want to learn more about Kurdish people, I’d recommend starting with:
✨ Kurdish Women’s Stories by Houzan Mahmoud.
🔥 Daughters of Smoke and Fire by Ava Homa. My goal is to keep reading and uplifting more Kurdish authors, so if you have any recommendations please send them my way 🫶🏻 Make sure to check out @thenomaddreamer ’s posts today too 💕
Thank you to the hosts @bookish.millennial @hyperfixatedreader ! #KurdishAuthors #DiverseReads #Bookstagram #KurdishStories

A Guide to Diversifying Your Reading: Stories Across Asia & The Pacific💙🌏 Since it’s AAPI Heritage Month, I wanted to use this as a chance to highlight books by Asian and Pacific authors, including stories set all around the world. There are many different cultures, experiences and perspectives there are to explore! Even though this post is inspired by this month, it is important to read diversely and uplift underrepresented voices all year long. If you have any favourite books by Asian or Pacific authors, please share them in the comments. I’m always looking for new recs🥰 #bookstagram #aapiheritagemonth #AsianAuthors #diversereads

Books vs My Expectations 🌅🌼🧡 Late to this trend (as always lol) but I had so much fun putting this together 🫶🏼 A mix of books that exceeded, or didn’t quite meet my expectations… plus a few I have very high hopes for! The didn’t meet category was actually kind of hard because I’m pretty picky with the books I pick up, so I rarely end up reading something I don’t enjoy. I’m so curious… do we share any opinions? Are there any books you disagree with me on or one you have really high expectations for??☀️ #bookexpectations #booksta #tbr #diversereads #bookrecs

5 books I’ve read recently 🍄🤍 It’s been a minute, but I’m back again with another 5 reads! I still post most of my reviews on stories, but I’m also really loving having them on my feed. I really like with the mix of books in this one, between cosy, emotional, and more thought-provoking reads. The books: - The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo: ★★★★★ - To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee: ★★★ - Love Is a War Song by Danica Nava: ★★★★★ - Reel by Kennedy Ryan: ★★★★ - To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee: ★★★ - The Witch’s Guide to Love and Poison by Aamna Qureshi: ★★★★ What was your last 5 star read? 🍒💫 #bookstagram #recentreads #readingwrapup #bookreview #diversereads

Book haul 📖🛍️🌸 I’m seriously so excited for all of these!! Sometimes retail therapy really is the best medicine 😌 This is just part 1 of my haul, my friends and family also spoiled me with so many books for my birthday, and I’m honestly so grateful!! I’ve read a couple already but… I probably should go on a book-buying ban (will I? probably not lol) Have you read any of these? What’s the last book you bought?🩷 #bookhaul #bookstagram #tbrpile #booklover #newbooks

Bookshelf tour 🩵🪸🪼 I am utterly obsessed with how my bookshelves are currently looking!! How do you organize your bookshelf?🫧 Personally, I like to organize mine by author and genre, and I’ve also separated my TBR from the books I’ve already read. It makes it so much easier to see what I still want to dive into next and it also really puts into perspective how many books I still haven’t read. That way, I can remind myself not to buy more books… but we all know how that usually goes😝 #bookshelf #shelfie #tbr #bookstagram #books diversebooks

A Guide to Diversifying Your Reading: Celebrating Muslim Authors 💜💫 In honor of Ramadan, I’ve put together a little guide spotlighting Muslim voices. These are books by Muslim authors and stories featuring Muslim characters, sharing different cultures, experiences, and perspectives from around the world. While this post is centered around Ramadan, reading diversely and uplifting underrepresented voices is something that matters all year. If you have any favorite books by Muslim authors, please share them in the comments! I’m especially looking for more fantasy books to add to my shelves ✨ #bookstagram #ramadanreads #diversebooks #diversereads #muslimauthors

A Guide to Diversifying Your Reading: Black History Month🌻💛 Happy Black History Month! I’m starting a new series on reading more intentionally, and I’m kicking it off with books by black authors that I enjoyed. All of these feature black characters at the center of the story. While this post is for Black History Month, reading diversely obviously shouldn’t be limited to one month a year. Did I miss any favorites? Let me know✨ #bookstagram #blackhistorymonthbooks
