your favorite middle son loves you forever and ever. i got to spend so much time with you over these past 3 years, marveling at how you were still you - loving, hilarious, sarcastic, and stubborn as a bull - despite your mind and body failing in real time. towards the end, it was always, i gotta go pick up the boys from church. where are your brothers? they could have called if they were gonna be out late. And, have you heard from your father? and i'd remind you, Anwar's in New York, Haran's in New Jersey, i'm Jamil and i'm right here, always. And you'd relax for a few minutes before starting over. it doesnt feel right in this house without you being here physically and me keeping an eye on you when you were up and about, and i suspect it may never, but you are also always with me, so you're here as long as i'm here. you are more important than you could have known, and you did what you came here to do, and most cannot say that. i will miss you more than words can express but so glad u are no longer in pain, and are with Dad again, playing music together and exchanging jokes that each of you pretend is not funny. we shall see each other again one day, my wonderful momma...cant wait.
this picture was already one of my all-time favorite photos, but now it has gained even more significance. yesterday was the day my dearest mother was supposed to come home from the hospital as they had done all they could to ease her pain, but she had other plans...and those plans were, being with her Marlow again to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today, together at last. in the photo it almost seems like they are connected in the middle, but on either side both are doing their own distinct, genius thing...art imitates life. i love u Mom, thank you for everything.

Castellari, and stars the legendary Franco Nero as a vigilante out for revenge, who might have bitten off more than he can chew!
