(Ad) 🇮🇳 Would you like to learn some cool facts about India? 🇮🇳 * * Incredible India is a beautiful hardback book all about India. It's written by award winning author @jasbinderbilan and features gorgeous illustrations by @nina_chakrabarti . It’s aimed at children but I think it's a wonderful way for people of all ages to learn about India. * * @the_rebel_reading_society gifted me a copy to photograph and I was blown away with how amazing it is. It's full of interesting facts and information about India including history, culture, wildlife, geography, food and more! The illustrations are wonderful too! 🧪🔬 Science 🧬🧫 * * This month’s #boardsandbooks theme is ‘Science’ (chosen by @tinymeeple2019 ). I had to go with Frankenstein for this one! It's the original Sci-Fi book and it's awesome! I am a huge fan of classic monsters. Vampires and Werewolves are my favourites as I feel an affinity to them both (wondering why, just ask!)…How about you? What are your favourite classic monsters? * * I chose to team Frankenstein with Top Trumps Specials Halloween card game. (Ad) One of my favourite things in the whole entire world is miniature food, I also reeeeally love all things retro! So you can imagine my delight when @zuru.toys surprised me with a couple of minis from their Magic Cook Kitchen range!!! I LOVE them! * * I thought I'd showcase the Magic Cook Kitchen Mixer first, because it's amazing! Just look at how cute it is! Now, as a collector, I just like this miniature mixer to display, but it's a really fun toy to play with if that's your thing too. It comes with two packets of UV reactive slime. You can pop the slime into the mixing bowl and turn the knob to spin the beater to mix the slime ‘batter’! (Not edible!!!) If you turn on the integrated UV light, the ‘batter’ changes colour. It looks pinkish whilst the UV light is on and orange with it off. The colour fades after a short while so you can do it all over again! * * If you like collecting foodie miniatures, play food and/or slime I think you'll like this toy! It does not contain resin and is suitable for ages 3+. It should be noted that the slime does dry out, so store it in a pot/bag after opening. If you don't like slime, you'll be happy to learn that you can totally enjoy this toy without it! There are lots of other cool minis available in this range, including a waffle iron, popcorn machine, toaster, blender and more! I would love them all! * * 🎁 This toy was given to me for free. 🧳🚂. It's time for a new #boardgamefaceoff !! This month's theme is ‘Around the World' (chosen by @themidlandmeeple and @larasrsmall ). I'm battling a new opponent this month, my lovely friend Chris @magicandmeeples ! We both share a passion for all things board games and Disney! * * For round 1 of this face off, Chris and I decided to go for travel friendly games you could take around the world! Both of our choices also happened to come in bags! * * 🥔 I chose Bag of Chips! This game comes in what is essentially a modified crisp packet so it is perfect for travelling! It's such a fun push your luck game too! I love it! If I'm going somewhere, the first thing I'll pack is crisps, so this game was an obvious pick for me! (My travel crisps of choice are McCoys Salt and Malt Vinegar. It's been the same travel crisps for me ever since I was little!) * * 🀄@magicandmeeples has chosen Azul Mini! I absolutely adore the bag this comes in! I have never actually played classic Azul but I have Azul Duel in my collection, which I love. The squealing was unreal! 🤣🥔 @noodoll gifted me a few of their Ricespud potato plushies to review. I LOVE them sooooo much!!! * * I thought I'd start by showcasing Berry Grandma Ricespud. She has a cute pink strawberry shawl/head scarf, red glasses, grey hair and a cute face! She is super soft, fluffy and cuddly. She's small enough to be taken out and about if you like to have a comfort item with you. This Grandma Ricespud lives by my bed and she makes me very happy. 🥰🍓🥔 * * I was lucky enough to receive a selection of Noodoll Ricespuds, so I'll feature the others soon. They are all amazing! My kids and brother scurried off with the other 4 though, so grandma is the only one I managed to keep for myself! (She's my favourite of the bunch though!) * * Noodoll Ricespuds are suitable for 0+ and are machine washable. 🍿 🎥 (Ad) I love books and games that feature diversity and inclusivity. I was SO happy to discover a children's book that not only features a super cool AuDHD kid but his mum is AuDHD too!!! Since I have two autistic children (one most likely has ADHD too) aaand I'm awaiting my own ASD assessment, I really appreciate the represenation of neurodiversity in Hari Kumar Ultimate Superstar by the talented @rashmiwriting . * * @the_rebel_reading_society gifted me a copy of Hari Kumar to photograph. It's such a fantastic, relatable book for kids, especially if they want to understand more about neurodiversity. I really like that it touches on some of the challenges Hari faces and how he manages his ‘Fizzy Brain’. There are some great examples of coping mechanisms on the pages. I love that it portrays neurodiversity in such a positive light. Not only is there diversity in terms of ASD and ADHD there is also a great mix of ethnicities too. Hari is 75% Indian and 25% French. There's also a really fun storyline about making a movie (Hari wants to make it big in Bollywood!) with a focus on friendship and teamwork. The illustrations are absolutely brilliant too! * * Hari Kumar is a diary format middle grade book, which is something my daughter particularly likes.
