Many of our projects to protect green spaces share a common thread: the areas at risk are home to endangered species. From the Jefferson salamander in Mount Nemo, to the Little Brown Myotis bat in Inverhuron, to the Hine’s emerald dragonfly in Springwater Township, these species critically need our help. On this #EndangeredSpeciesDay, we want to recognize everyone who is fighting to protect priceless ecosystems and their inhabitants across the country. Because of people like you, these species stand a fighting chance.

Exciting news! We are teaming up with @smallchangefund to hire for two roles: Social Media Coordinator and Community Organizing Coordinator. Both roles would support Small Change Fund’s partnership project with 350.org, Elevating Community-Rooted Climate Justice in Canada. This project aims to change harmful energy policies and expose the real costs of pollution. We equip climate organizers with the tools, resources, and skills to engage the public, organize in their communities, and mobilize to demand strong climate action policies and secure institutional wins that reduce emissions and advance justice. #jobalert #sustainability #climatejustice #climatejobs

🤝🌳Small Change Fund Partnership We have joined forces with @smallchangefund on a fundraising campaign called Revive the Yorklands: A Community Vision for Nature and Belonging. We need to keep the momentum on advocating for the protection of this beautiful gem in our city and for building a generation of caring stewards. A place where nature, learning, and community thrive for everyone. Funds drive our efforts to keep the Ontario Reformatory lands protected as public greenspace. Your donations will also support year-round community programming focused on stewardship activities for both young and old. If you donate to our joint project, you will receive a tax receipt through the charitable organization, Small Change Fund. Join us in bringing this vision to life — watch the video and visit our website to learn more! 🌐Website: Revive the Yorklands: A Community Vision for Nature and Belonging 🎥Video: /watch?reload=9&v=o3CoEPyiREw #yorklandsgreenhub #smallchangefund #charity #donate #fundraiser #indigenous #NonProfit For further information, please contact us at: [email protected]

As we continue to celebrate #NationalVolunteerWeek we thought we’d share an inspiring volunteer spotlight! Angela began volunteering with our partners at @movementyvr in January 2025 and hasn’t looked back. Her experience has been so meaningful that she strongly encourages others to volunteer: “I feel like I’ve made so many good friends along the way, there’s a lot of mentorship through getting involved, and there’s a strong sense of community.” Thank you, Angela, for everything you do to make transit better for everyone in the metro Vancouver area! You can read Angela’s volunteer story at: https://smallchangefund.ca/volunteer-spotlight-angela-movement/

This Earth Day, are you getting on the bus? 🌍 In Kingston alone, youth riders cut 70 tonnes of CO2 every year — that's the equivalent of 1,200 trees growing for a decade. Free youth transit is climate action that works. Let's build more of it across Canada. Learn more, link in bio #EarthDay #YouthTransitRevolution
