Just as a little teaser here’s a snippet of the first single of the ‘Dark Dog’ album: ‘A Bed Can Be Many Things’. An upbeat joyful track but don’t let the holly jolly singalong mislead you, this is a dark heavy song about the introduction of a bed in the living room. Here’s an outside stripped down version of the song with @jonasbruyneelauteur and @klaastomme on guitar, @esthercoorevits on the violin and @friemaline adding her soothing voice taken on the rooftop of a building in Oostende. Kortrijk ❤️ Saturday January 24th we play a fullband show @track_kortrijk / @wildewesten.be / @schouwburg_kortrijk in the wonderful Concertstudio. One of the songs we’ll be playing is this “It is Tough” (from my album ‘Dark Dog’ that is now out on all streaming services). We recorded an acoustic version on the stairs of a building in Oostende. YES RELEASE DAY !!! ‘Dark Dog’ is out now on all streaming platforms via Wellington Records. The album has been pressed on limited vinyl and is available through the Wellington Records webshop (check the #linkinbio) and via DM. It will soon also be available in selected record stores (updates to follow). Many people contributed to this album, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me throughout this artistic journey. Ghent ❤️ Friday January 9th we play a fullband show at @cafecharlatan . Today we recorded this intimate version of ‘Open Water’ (from the upcoming ‘Dark Dog’ album) by the water near @oortstudio in Ghent. It was blistering cold so obviously we had to do it in one take. Seen is now out on all platforms. It's an act of self-preservation and a quiet call to grant yourself and your emotions the right to exist. I would like to dedicate it to my friend G., who passed away on this day 13 years ago in a car accident. Although his death, or he himself, is not the subject of this song, he was someone who played an incredibly important role in my life for many years. He was the one who placed a guitar in my hands and taught me my very first chords. Without him, I might never have discovered what music could mean to me (and that's obviously a lot!). I hope that Seen evokes, for every listener, the memory of someone who truly saw you for the first time. Seen was entirely recorded at home in only a few takes. Using a few room microphones, we captured moments of Irene playing, singing, speaking, and moving through the house. For me, it is one of the most special tracks on Dark Dog, my album to be released on January 16, 2026 via Wellington Records. It's also the final single released ahead of the album. The track was produced by Jonas Bruyneel, mixed by Bert Vliegen, and mastered by Laurens Grossen. The artwork was created by Merel Van de Casteele. Jasper Vanhauwaert animated it. Release via @wellingtonrecords !
