Mackeeper is not here to create a vibe.
We spoke with brothers Miles and Nick, who arrived last month with their debut EP ‘Rock Candy,’ along with a clear mandate. “I hate artists that have nothing to say and I hate music that sounds professional,” Nick tells P&P. “We’re trying to communicate with you as directly as possible.” The music is built the same way it was when they were young, just with a “sharper pencil and a stranger story to tell.”
Mackeeper’s music is made for people who had a bad day at work and need a release, for kids who ditch class—driven by a belief that “more people than ever are struggling, but no one makes struggle music.” Miles draws his inspiration from Tom Cruise in ‘War of the Worlds.’ “Our planet could evaporate in the blink of an eye,” he says. “Life is precious.”
