This news deserve endless celebrations 🎊🎉🎊 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 In what has become one of the most remarkable acts of generosity in the global movie industry, our own legendary actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has pledged to donate 100% of the proceeds from the cinema run of her award winning film "Mother’s Love" to Slum2School Africa in advancing the work we do in providing access to education for children in need. Yes… 100% After more than 30 years as one of Nollywood’s most celebrated icons, Mother’s Love marks Omotola’s first movie as a Director - and she has chosen to dedicate it entirely to supporting children’s education. I have been in total disbelief since the first called and informed me and I invite you to join us @slum2school to celebrate her for this exceptional act of service. Mother’s Love tells a powerful story about the strength of mothers, the resilience of communities, and the transformative power of education. Much of the story was brought to life with the support of Slum2School Africa, in our classrooms and innovation hub, by our students, our staff, our volunteers and members of the Makoko community whose community formed the heart of the movie. We did open our doors of support because we knew that stories like this will not only inspire, but change narratives in communities like Makoko, where gifted youths are judged before they are seen. We never expected a single Naira, so this decision leaves us in complete shock. Please join me and celebrate this incredible milestone and our superhero @realomosexy for being a true role model for millions globally. Thank you, Dr. Omotola, for showing the world that great stories can also build great futures. Happy Mother's Day to you and to every amazing mother who makes sacrifices daily. Please friends, go and watch Mother's Love in any cinema across the country this week. It'll leave an impression on you. Great job Olumide Oworu, Noray Nehita, Ifeanyi Kalu, Lilian Afegbai, Baba Rex and everyone who acted in this award winning movie. Including Me (Yes I Said That) 😀 History is being made. #MothersLove #OmotolaJalade #OttoOrondaam #Slum2School #MothersDay

Happy 14th Anniversary, Slum2School Africa. 🎊🎉🎂 Fourteen years ago, a handful of bold, selfless young people chose to believe that every child irrespective of where they lived deserved more. From 2012 to 2016, our early volunteers walked dusty streets, crossed waters, gave their weekends, their skills, and their hearts - not for applause, but for impact. We will be celebrating dozens of them this year and ask that you tag as many as you can remember and appreciate their service and the seed they planted. Today, that seed has grown into a movement that has reached hundreds of thousands of children. What began as volunteer passion is now a thriving ecosystem of thousands of educators, partners, staff, and leaders shaping futures across communities. And we are not slowing down. As we celebrate 14 years of Slum2School Africa, we also begin the official countdown to our 15th - a milestone year that will mark the launch of several bold, transformative initiatives that will redefine our scale, deepen our outcomes, and strengthen our legacy. To our pioneer volunteers, staff and leadership team: you built the foundation. To our present volunteers, partners, staff and leadership team: you are driving the next wave of impact. The story is still being written. The mission is stronger than ever. And the next chapter will be even more significant. Happy 14th Anniversary, Slum2School Africa. The best is ahead. 🌍📚 #Slum2School #Africa #Anniversary #EducationMatters #LetsDoMore

We are incredibly proud to share that our Founder, Mr. Orondaam Otto, has been invited to deliver the 56th Convocation Lecture of the University of Lagos. This is more than an honor. It is a powerful moment for education, advocacy, and the millions of children and youth whose futures depend on the choices we make today. His lecture, “Maximizing Nigeria’s Demographic Dividend through Urgent Education Reform for Global Competitiveness in the 21st Century,” reflects the very heart of our mission at Slum2School: transforming access to education from charity to national investment. As he takes this message to one of Nigeria’s most respected academic stages, we wish him clarity, courage, and strength. May his words inspire policy reform, awaken responsibility, and move us closer to an education system that truly serves every child. #Slum2School #Africa #UniversityOfLagos #UNILAG #Convocation

These are some of the incredible faces behind the impact we see every day and we can't celebrate them enough. The quiet commitment, long hours, shared laughter, hard decisions, and unwavering belief that every child deserves a chance. In 2025, because of this team, thousands of lives were transformed, stories were rewritten, and hope was restored in communities that needed it most. Not all heroes stand on stages; many show up consistently, serve selflessly, and lead with heart. Thank you for giving your time, your energy, and your compassion to this journey and having fun while at it. We are deeply grateful for all you’ve poured in, and we look forward to doing even more together in 2026. Tag someone you can identify and thank them for their incredible service 💙💙💙 #Slum2School #Africa #HopeForEveryChild #EducationForAll #Slum2SchoolAfrica

This was the most powerful video for me this year - and I hope it blesses you. At first glance, it looks like a beautiful surprise for Ayomide. But it goes beyond him. It’s about how God works - quietly, ahead of us, beyond us, and far outside our imagination. That morning, on the last day of school, during our 14th Christmas in a Box celebration for about 2,000 children, I woke up with a gentle but persistent voice in my heart: “Orondaam, Buy Ayomide something special today.” I have profound instincts and I try to obey them. So I called my colleague, and we drove to the mall. No explanation. No plan. Just obedience. We bought a few gifts, and we were already walking out, convinced we were done. Yet my spirit kept pulling me back - until I found myself standing in front of bicycles. Why must I buy a bicycle that is this expensive? I question myself. But the voice was clear. I had no idea this was the one thing Ayomide had always prayed for. He had never ridden one, yet carried that desire quietly in his heart. I had no idea God was already at work. And then… the moment unfolded. Watching this video later, I realized something deeper: This wasn't just about Ayomide.. It was for me and you! God doesn’t always answer prayers the way we expect. Sometimes, He wakes people up, Leads them into ordinary places, and sends them to fulfill someone else’s heart desires. As we step into 2026, don’t watch this as just another video, save it, share it and watch it as a reminder: Your heart’s desires are known. Your prayers are heard. And God is already positioning the right people to meet them - in ways you would never predict. He is sending someone to walk into a mall. He is sending someone to reach out to you.. He is preparing people to show up right on time. May our lives be filled with beautiful surprise throughout 2026. May our heart desires and prayers be answered. May He use us as channels to fulfil the desires of others, and may 2026 be our best year yet. Amen. PS: How many times did Ayomide say "Thank You" That was another Impressive lesson about Gratitude. #OttoOrondaam #Slum2School #HappyNewYear #GodsPlan #LetsDoMore

At this year's 14th edition of Christmas in a Box, something quietly powerful happened. 14 years ago, most of the scholars in the last slide stood in line with hopeful eyes and small hands - waiting for a gift. 🎁 This year, those same children returned. Not as recipients. But as givers. Our university scholars - took ownership of the moment. They handled over 90% of the shopping, wrapping, boxing, and gifting, carefully preparing presents for younger learners in primary and secondary schools. Watching them do the shopping, wrap gifts with intention, laughter, and pride was emotional for us. Because this was never just about boxes or Christmas. It was about the long arc of impact. About what happens when love is consistent. When support is sustained. When children are not abandoned halfway through their journey. They once received these gifts. Today, they give them. We are deeply grateful to our partners - Greensprings School, Cardonic, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Maltina, Nigerians Breweries, and many others - who came together to bring joy to hundreds of children and made this moment possible. This is what service looks like when it comes full circle. This is what impact looks like when it grows up. Thanks to all our scholars and volunteers who made this year's Christmas In A Box our best yet. #Slum2School #ChristmasInABox #14.0 #Slum2SchoolAfrica #Christmas

A promise made. A promise kept. 💙 Twelve years ago, we made a promise to children in one of Lagos’ most remote riverine communities. A promise that tested time, resilience, and belief - to build them a school This year, we kept that promise. 💙 What began with teaching in small huts and open lagoons is now the Slum2School Green Academy - a fully eco-friendly, climate-smart school powered by solar energy, rainwater harvesting, waste-to-biogas systems, biodiversity areas and designed for dignity and learning. Today, 250 children are stepping into their first classrooms on full scholarship, in a world-class environment built for the future. This is what happens when courage refuses to give up on children - and when purpose outlives obstacles. Special thanks to all our volunteers, staff, various stakeholders and partners - Biomerieux, HP, Norwegian Embassy in Nigeria, Universal Music Group, United Airlines, Triton, Preserve our Roots, Lagos State Government through Epe Local Government, SUBEB and many others who made who made this a success. Together let's scale this project across Africa and bring hope and education to every child in need. 🔗 /greenacademy #Slum2School #GreenAcademy #EducationForAll #SustainableEducation #Africa

Twelve years ago, we promised children on a remote island in Lagos that we would build them a school. A promise we never imagined would become our most challenging journey. But this year, we kept it - and I am deeply fulfilled.💙 What began as an adventurous trip into some of Lagos’ most remote riverine communities - where hundreds of children played freely in the lagoon with no classroom or school in sight - became a 12-year commitment. We taught in small huts, supported local teachers, and never let go of the vision. Today, that journey stands as the Slum2School Green Academy: a fully eco-friendly school powered by solar energy, with rainwater harvesting and purification systems, waste-to-biogas technology, biodiversity learning areas, and staff quarters for teachers. Growing up, we were taught that our promise must always be our bond. Today, we proved that - to the children, the community, and ourselves. This project demanded sweat and sacrifice, relentless determination, and an unexplainable zeal to defy all odds and bring education to this community. My deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers, board, staff, and partners @slum2school - including Biomerieux, HP, Norwegian Embassy, Universal Music Group, United Airlines, Lagos State Government through Epe Local Government and SUBEB, and many others whose support made the Slum2School Green Academy possible. Today, 250 deserving children are walking into their very first classroom, learning on full scholarship in a world-class learning environment built on dignity, sustainability, and the future. This is what happens when courage refuses to give up on children - and when we unite to ensure that even the most marginalized are given the very best. Our goal is to deepen partnerships with the private sector and government to ensure that every child in Nigeria and across Africa has access to quality education and that no child is left behind. Join us. Visit: /greenacademy to get involved and together, let’s build a world where every child can reach their full potential. 💙 #OttoOrondaam ##Slum2School #GreenAcademy #Nigeria #Africa #EducationForAll
