This is why I started to mix. 3-4 deck mixing, long build ups, switches and double drops/blends. Few years ago at @shambhala_mf after catching @a.m.ctitan I knew i just didn’t want to hear more blends, doubles/tripples, I knew I wanted to do it. Fast forward 3 months later I was in Amsterdam going to the @dnballstars seeing dozens of people I loved to listen too and it really motivated me. After that trip it was game over and a close friend(@keengroove ) gave me his controller he learned to mix on. After a few months I caught on quick and upgraded to a 4 channel controller and now here I am doing what I wanted to do. Never thought I’d ever be rinsing out my doubles/blends for people live on cdj’s. I’m constantly trying to learn new stuff, always digging for new/old ID’s and don’t think I’ll ever stop mixing. Even if I don’t get to play more shows live for people I’ll always enjoy this. Still lost at words of getting 18.5 points out of 21 at the rollers royal🥈 Going up against some heavy hitters was definitely something out of my comfort zone and playing on bigger sound systems on cdjs is always a rush for me. I love drum and bass and the whole culture of it, it’s nice to see it here in Calgary. The Calgary scene has showed me nothing but love and pushed me to playing live. I’m Slug, I love all things dnb and sound system culture related. I still don’t know where I want to go with this but I’m doing it all for the love.
