Here are some behind-the-scenes moments we wanted to share, revealing the scale and intention behind this final chapter. Drones were flown inside the cathedral to capture the vastness of the space through wide, open shots, tracing the vertical rhythm of the columns and the immensity of the ceiling. Light became the true protagonist of the narrative: entering through the rear windows as a symbol of rebirth, crossing the space, and playing with us at the altar while we performed. Music follows the melody as its guiding force, slowly building and evolving until it reaches its final form. A final chapter shaped by space, sound, and light. Huge thanks to Quiet Film & Sound and the entire crew for shaping this closing chapter with such care and precision. --- 📺 Experience the full story on YouTube 🎧 Headphones recommended 🌐 Link in Bio --- #modular #eurorack #ambient #liveperformance #improvised #sounddesign #experimental #galicia #Sobrado

The third chapter unfolds in the heart of the Monastery: the Cathedral, now restored to its full majesty. The performance unfolds at the altar, not as a proclamation, but as a quiet dialogue with the space and its long history of absence and return. The piece is performed live through modular synthesis and Eurorack systems. Natural light becomes the guiding force of the scene, illuminating every arch and column revealing subtle details and giving the atmosphere a sense of renewed calm. The sound shifts toward a brighter, more melodic expression. Arpeggios grow slowly from the improvisation, finding clarity and form, symbolizing the return of harmony after periods of darkness and abandonment. While rooted in the vocabulary of ambient, drone and experimental music, this chapter embraces a more uplifting tonality. This chapter speaks of re-emergence, as long shadows give way to the renewed presence of peace and beauty. — 📺 Experience the full story on YouTube 🎧 Headphones recommended 🌐 Link in Bio — #modular #eurorack #ambient #liveperformance #improvised sounddesign experimental galicia Sobrado

Chapter III: Cathedral In 1954, from the silence of ruin, the Monastery rose once more. Stones long abandoned were lifted back into place, and the Cathedral was rebuilt. Light returned to every arch and corridor, and the valley echoed again with the chants of the monks. Sobrado became a beacon along the Camino de Santiago — a place of rest, devotion, and rebirth. What was lost found its way back to the present: a testament to endurance, a monument reborn. This performance is our way of honouring that journey — a sanctuary that refused to let time erase its name. Here are some behind-the-scenes moments we wanted to share, giving you a glimpse into the recording process and acknowledging the amazing team at @quietfs who made this chapter possible. We worked with four cameras and an FPV drone to capture the space from every angle. But the real magic came from the light technician: everything was filmed at night, and without the right illumination nothing would have been visible. A powerful spotlight was used to make the tower shine from a long distance, while the LED tubes placed along the cloister corridors added an extra layer to the visual narrative. Huge thanks again to the whole crew for bringing this vision to life. --- 📺 Experience the full story on YouTube 🎧 Headphones recommended 🌐 Link in Bio --- #modular #eurorack #ambient #liveperformance #improvised #sounddesign #experimental

This second piece reflects the darkest period of the story. Shadows, void and silence become the driving force of the composition, shaped entirely through modular synthesis and Eurorack systems. The chosen space was the cloister —a 17th–18th-century structure that lived through splendour, destruction and later reconstruction. Entering its walls brings us closer to what it might have been to experience this space in its peak, while its present form still carries the quiet trace of what was lost. A live light performance adds an additional visual layer. Soft orange tones illuminate the corridors, evoking the nocturnal atmosphere of the piece and the memory of past destruction, while the illuminated tower stands as a distant beacon —a symbol of endurance and hope. The sound design for this piece, generated through improvised patching on the Eurorack, is profound and dark —built from cold, atmospheric textures that lean toward ambient, drone and experimental territories. These evolving layers embrace introspection and emptiness, resonating with the void that defines this chapter of the narrative. --- 📺 Experience the full story on YouTube 🎧 Headphones recommended 🌐 Link in Bio --- #modular #eurorack #ambient #liveperformance #improvised #sounddesign #experimental

Chapter II: Cloister During the 18th century, political and cultural unrest spread across Spain. The monks were expelled from the Monastery, and the land was lost. The place was abandoned — ceilings collapsed, paintings burned, and the walls were reclaimed by nature. For over a century, it remained in darkness; memories of its former glory faded away. Until one day, a small ray of hope shone again from the woods… --- 📺 Experience the full story on YouTube 🎧 Headphones recommended --- #modular #eurorack #ambient #liveperformance #improvised #sounddesign #experimental

Chapter I - Behind the Scenes. Here are some clips and photos we wanted to share, offering a glimpse into the recording process and highlighting the talent of the whole team who made this adventure possible. The FPV drone had a small accident when it lost signal mid-flight, but luckily we managed to recover it 😅 The camera operators paid incredible attention to detail, making sure we captured the best possible shots. Huge thanks to @quietfs for the amazing production. Check out Chapter I in our YouTube channel - Link in bio.

For the first location of the project, we chose the forest outside the Monastery — the place where the story begins, beyond the walls. Nature becomes the first protagonist, before the stones were ever raised. Fallen leaves covered the ground in a thick layer, embodying the passage of time through nature — in contrast with the sunset: the most beautiful moment of the day, yet also the last before dusk. The sound’s dynamics were designed to mirror the flow of history — rising slowly, as melodies take shape through performance, then fading quickly, like memory itself. Chapter I: The Forest In the 10th century, monks in search of solitude reached this forest and felt a deep connection with the land. Here, they laid the first stone of what would become the Monastery of Sobrado dos Monxes. For over eight centuries, the forest echoed with life, joy, and sacred peace. But something was about to happen that no one could foresee… Experience the full story on YouTube — headphones recommended. Link in Bio
