a little late but here's wishing everyone a happy new year! ✨ we hope to share more stories of our journey moving forward 🫶 2 — we met over lunch + matcha like any other day. jo was lamenting about corporate life and pez brought up the idea of starting a business again (yes, it happened a few times before 🤭). jo started to entertain the idea... and the rest is history. 3,4 — we ordered one of every flavour and taste tested everything together with potential pairings. the pink guava was our favourite 🍈 while the guava passionfruit jelly didn't make the cut then... how the turn tables 🤯 5 — this was a place jo frequents for a matcha run during her office days 🍵 she wanted this to work out but it didn't and it's ok, we move on. no hard feelings 😌 6 — we started product shoots and had to get innovative 💡 that included buying vanguard sheets from art friend to use as a backdrop. 7 — we brought our festive bundles along to jeju 🍊 to take some photos and on this day, we were both feeling unwell from gastric discomfort and headache 😷 surprisingly, the shoot was a good distraction and we continued our holiday plans feeling better 🚶🏻‍♀️ 8 — we didn't expect that making a cheese board recipe video was going to take us an hour... so much effort goes into content creation 😭 9 — christmas was approaching in a few days 🎄 and we did our last livestream of the year but felt defeated after getting no orders 🥲 10 — we have been upgrading our packaging since the day we started - double sided bubble wraps, double cushioned boxes and fragile labels, which naturally added to our costs. all it takes is poor handling from logistics to ruin our efforts and yet, we get brushed off and borne the cost 😔 how much could it cost right? at our scale, margins and operating cost, every dollar counts. 11 — we're so thankful to have met HBB owners in this journey that have inspired and reminded us why we started this in the first place. 🫶 12 — we've known each other since pri school & watched each other grow up. we're happy that this is another experience we get to share together.

Because it's Chinese New Year, definitely have to be on theme! Made an orange soda matcha with a cream top. 🍊 Using Balinese Tangerine Marmalade from @slowjam.co , it's so refreshing and I love that there are tangerine peels inside. Matcha from a new local brand called @yuisui_matcha ! Founded by 3 Japanese sisters and the matcha is of really good quality and definitely worth a try!
