Hverdag Books publishes unique and experimental editions for and about the everyday. Based in Moss, Hverdag Books is an artist-run imprint dedicated to publishing vulnerable and raw works by underrepresented voices, primarily in Norway. Hverdag is a place to put things down: poetry, conversations, hybrid and visual essays, and more. It is also the publishing practice and risograph print studio of Jessica Williams since 2016. Love as sorrow, love as mending, love as repair. Only a few days left to catch my brick works at @uks1921 These were lovingly reinstalled about a month ago, without much fanfare. Thank you to everyone that has visited, contemplated and written about them. Thank you to all my friends, peers, and collaborators who are keeping me busy with various art-related jobs at the moment. The pipe dream is to save up enough money in order to focus entirely on my own practice and mushrooming from the fall. Weโ€™ll see. ๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

We the international riso community โค๏ธ Robert Baxter! Last week, he saved my dying CV machine with a button battery and a pack of zip ties.. only an hour after declaring it only having a 20% chance of survival due to electrical issues. The next day, he and I gave the machine the deepest clean ever and he fixed the registration. ๐Ÿช„๐ŸŽข He also gave me the most thorough and patient mechanical training on how to improve the registration on SF machines. The one at House of Foundation got a spontaneous tuneup from the inside out.. ๐ŸงคAnd I even got to witness the moment Lexie Owenโ€™s RA machine (thatโ€™s almost as old as me) got resurrected. Not only that, but over three sweet days, he was my houseguest. We shared so many meals and conversations about the right to repair, value, and community. Thank you, Robert! ๐ŸŒŸ

The snow is melting and hidden stars are emerging. Plucked off the asphalt outside Strรธmmen Storsenter and the grass outside Oslo Rรฅdhuset, just a few days apart. Thank you to @stephssu for writing a text to/about my brick works that are currently on view @uks1921 as part of the group exhibiton ๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ธ๐“ท๐“ผ ๐“ฒ๐“ท ๐“›๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ฎ. ๐Ÿ’Œ These works were originally and last shown in Sandefjord, almost exactly one year ago. The odd bricks were collected on Jelรธya: eroded and formed by decades of being washed between the fjord and beaches. They are filled with crushed hardrives, obsolete technology, and debris from the beach and my home. ๐Ÿ’ฟ๐Ÿ’Ž๐Ÿงฑ Last year, these artworks appeared uncredited and unwritten about on the front page of a national newspaper. Oddly, what hurt very much at the time became an inseparable part of the work: ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ท๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ. ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ For the exhibition at UKS, I commissioned a text from Stephanie Serrano Sundby as an attempt at mending. A love letter to the work, if you will. Because to see oneโ€™s work through anotherโ€™s eyes and pen is a gift. Physical copies of the text are wedged between the layers of the largest brick sculpture, as well as folded into the catalog for the exhibition.

Itโ€™s the end of an era, that went by so fast.. Two years as an institutional curator @nitja_senter_for_samtidskunst Takk for meg! Hereโ€™s a little BTS of some favorite moments and exhibitions Iโ€™ve worked on. ๐Ÿฆ‹ And maybe see you on Friday? Iโ€™m moderating a panel during Nitja Natt in connection with ๐˜๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜•๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ ๐˜š๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, ๐˜ž๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฆ ๐˜•๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ ๐˜™๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด, curated by myself and @moonicah โœจ During my time at Nitja, I curated / co-curated / produced 3 exhibitions plus 1.5 others in the project room. I got to work with two groups of young curators @praksistab with some truly capable colleagues. This yearโ€™s group (the cuties in the third slide) also has an opening on Friday which is not to miss. Last year I also got to work with a Romanian delegation of young curators and mentors @cdrf.ro through a whirlwind and fun EU collaboration that I helped write the application for ๐Ÿค“ In this job, I did so much I never thought Iโ€™d be able to do before and learned so much on the way. I have nothing but admiration for all my (ex-)colleagues. Nitja is an unafraid and generous institution who trusts artists and follows through on collaborations that few others would even take on. Posting two days in a row ๐Ÿซจ to properly announce the beginning of a year long presence @uks1921 ๐Ÿ“šโฃ๏ธ Throughout 2026, Hverdag will have a physical presence with publications that rotate in and out of the cozy corner behind the desk at UKS. The books here are both for reading and for sale โ€” and on a sliding scale of course. Stay tuned: the plan is to eventually launch new books, activate previous ones, and maybe even have a birthday party? Also every time I come in with new books, Iโ€™ll fix the chair a bit more.

In 2012, I wrote this text: ๐˜ ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฎ๐˜บ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ง ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ญ๐˜บ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ธ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฃ๐˜บ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ด๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜บ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ-๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฃ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ. For years, this poem/manifesto/mantra informed how I produced and interacted with the world. I held onto it for a decade before producing an edition of absurd lanyards for the 2022 @bergenartbookfair โ€” I made them first and foremost for myself, who has been known to misplace keys. At that time, there was also (still is?) a furiously increasing trend at art book fairs of merch selling better than books. ๐Ÿซ  Also in 2022, I made a wall painting of the text @house_of_foundation to start what would be one of, if not the, biggest and most important art projects of my life: (๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ)๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ. Now, in 2026, a new version of the work is moving to @uks1921 โฃ๏ธBut not tomorrow. ๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ธ๐“ท๐“ผ ๐“ฒ๐“ท ๐“›๐“ธ๐“ฟ๐“ฎ is an experimental group show that will change and evolve during through the exhibition period. For now, Iโ€™m showing brick piles and ornaments, with a new contextualizing text (love letter?) by @stephssu ๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿ’Œ In addition, @hverdagbooks will also have an outpost at UKS through early 2027. Here, if you also desire, you too can own an absurd, 100% functional lanyard. The ones on display are they very last ones ๐ŸŽ€๐Ÿ”‘
