50 years ago today a little girl was born to a women that already had her foot dipped in the pool of parenting but she had no idea who she was birthing on this day but God did. As years went on she knew that this was not just some ordinary girl but this was a little girl with tenacity, passion, sprinkled with a little attitude and dedication. These traits would take this little girl far as long as she learned how to manage them and use them not just for her growth but for the growth and blessings of others. She struggled during her school years. Not feeling the standard of beauty during the 80’s and 90’s, but her Scorpio mother knew that she was destined for great and amazing things so she kept sewing seeds in her and she was committed to keeping amazing mentors in her life to help guide and nurture her because her mom knew it took a village to produce greatness. As she grew into adulthood all the seeds that were planted began to blossom and she had a field of beautiful flowers to bless the world with. These flowers were given to friends, bosses, children, colleagues, strangers, husbands, in-laws , and back to her mother and father
Today, she stands and looks at the past 50 years with respect and gratitude. Those 50 built her character, challenged her faith, gave her love, took love, left her empty, restored love, gave her laughter, took her safety , gave her back safety, gave her friends, removed friends, gave her friends that poured into her as much as she poured into them, but most of all it gave her the ability to like herself. All of her, the flaws, the strengths, the sadness, the insecurities all of it.
Today she is the most free she has ever been. And she owes it all to this journey called life.
Life was made to give you access to all the emotions that are in you. It was made for you to get to know them and know them well and not fear them. The more you get comfortable with all the emotions that you will experience through the journey of life the more you will enjoy life. So cry, laugh, be sad, be angry, be scared, be happy be joyful. Then get centered and go out there and experience this beautiful world in abundance.
