In “Reptile Café” @slimeengine , drinks act as markers that divide time zones. The map is a visual model of this personal sense of time and space. At the top, a Quetzalcoatl floats inside a brainstem-shaped bubble, guiding the flow of food and drink through geometric patterns—this forms a system of time controlled by the reptilian brain.

Annan Shao is a new media artist.Her works explore the evolution of individual motivation by combining the mediums of new media animation and mixed media installations. Through the creation of virtual ecology and mixed media field narratives, she maps reality with allegorical hypothetical spatial and temporal events.
Annan graduated from the China Academy of Art with a Bachelor’s degree in visual communication and a Master‘s degree in fine art from Chelsea College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London.
Annan’s works have been exhibited at Guangdong Contemporary Art Centre, Tank Shanghai, Empire DAO (New York), Tree Art Museum (Beijing), Zabludowicz Collection (London), etc.
In 2025, her work Reptile Cafe is selected in Athens Digital Art Festival under the animation category “Eden’s Fringe”. In 2024, Reptile Cafe won the Nescience or the State of not Knowing international digital art call curated by mmmad art festival. In 2023, her work Customised New Routine won the From Micro To Macro and Back digital art call by smth art in Spain, and her work Highway Sushi won the NAFI Future prize from Nanjing Art Fair International.She is currently active as an artist and designer on international platforms.

“Reptile Café” is a project that explores post-human behavioral patterns through reptilian symbols and virtual beverage brands, under the soothing influence of beverage culture.
In “Reptile Café”, the field narration is an experiential process within the drinking space, mapping the dominance of our instincts.
It is hoped that after immersion, the caffeine-washed reptilian brain will still allow us to contemplate the possibility of observing this system from the outside.

In ‘The Venomous Creatures From The Gutter Keep Crawing Onto Me’ Fang Yang blends memories from cartoons, movies, and daily life, presenting them through a surreal visual language.
The distorted images, fragmented explosion shots, and CG visuals co-created with software generation all convey a strange calmness and unease, with symbols being dissolved in his work.

The tornado girl’s dance incorporates motion capture technology. She and her sisters appear and disappear intermittently in the jungle. Raindrops adorn her head, and air envelops her garments. Her body undergoes constant transformation.

‘They’ is the first video work in @shanhua.me solo exhibition. It unfolds in the form of a fairy tale. The protagonist is a weather eye that needs power gems. The eye met different characters, including the Child of Sun, the Book Man and his partner, the Tornado Girl and the Prophet.
The Weather Eye experiences a journey from naivety to confusion, from anticipation to loss, until finally relinquishing its obsession under the Prophet’s hint. This piece skillfully translates the subconscious influence of cross-cultural literature on personal life experiences.
The original image of the eye was a switch. Later in the story of They, he was upgraded to become the eye of the sky, which also means the switch of the sky.
