why mrs. batata you may ask?
i mean it does have batata but itâs more of a IYKYKđ
if you have been keeping up with our stories you would know the lore with mrs.đĽ
and well she herself helped us make this đ
but really what was in our heads before the shop opened was we NEED a banger without any meats
and this my friends is where the magic happened
includes the following:
white base, rosemary, thyme, batata duh, sun-dried tomatoes, carmelized onions, chives, herbed sour cream dollops, cowboy fries, parmesan, and lemon zest
a whole bunch of yummy stuff and trust us its so good
you might actually fall in love with it

and yes itâs really called mrs. batataâs special
the in and out moments before our grand opening
âsad things can be happyâ
from unboxing to cleaning the shop
to having x50 trials
to realizing our chairs needed to be shortened (thick thighs matter)
to having our pre opening experience and letâs say the menu changed very last minute (labneh and bite 45)
to our candles being changed as much as a babyâs diaper
those moments wouldnât fit in this dump but it was an eventful 3 weeks
Today is the big day đ
We are finally open to the public, a moment weâve been waiting for and working towards for a long time.
Weâre so excited to welcome you all and for you to finally experience the menu weâve been building and refining.
A quick note before you come by, the space is limited and we expect it to get busy. To keep things fair for everyone, we are not taking reservations at the moment. It will be first come first served.
We truly believe this is the best way to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to experience Slice45, especially in these early days.
For now, we are accepting walk-ins and takeaway orders only.
And donât worry, this is just the beginning. Weâre still working on so much more and we canât wait to share it with you.

Slice45 started with a simple idea. Inspired by moments, memories, and a love for good food, and now, it becomes something you can actually walk into.
This space means a lot to us. Itâs our take on a trattoria-style experience, built around comfort, flavor, and the kind of atmosphere youâll want to come back to.
Weâre beyond excited for you to try the new menu, feel the space, and experience it all with us.

Finally, here it is my first restaurant, yes I have done pop ups, events, catering, ran a cafe and eatery, flown with @aptitude.ae to Berlin however, opening an official restaurant was the first thing that I wanted to do 9 years ago when I opened aptitude and Iâm glad that it took me this long to do so,
because during that time I have learned a lot, met a lot of people, travelled, shared and exchanged my love of food with others and now being able to stand and invite you to come and try trattoria 45 is a pleasure of mine.
This is just the beginning!
We have chosen to open in khalidya due to its strong nostalgic element that I cherish dearly to my heart whether it is because of the trips to @spinneysuae where I was introduced to Doritos, Ruffles, barilla pasta, and other imported goods, or when my brother and I would sneak out of school to go to click dot net or Al Mahareb (old Internet cafes that no longer exist) or itâs because its where the first Dominos, Pizza Hut, Burger King were in Abu Dhabi, its also where I have found my long lasting love of shawarmas; anyways I can talk about this area forever.
With all that said, I would like to announce that slice is opening very very soon and we hope to see you all there!
