You can once again take a “hike” in the heart of downtown! The Main Library's signature Crescent Wall has reopened after a 10-month renovation project. The wide, gently climbing staircase begins in the south end of Library Square at the Civic Center, near the former Leonardo building. The wall rises six stories to the Library’s Rooftop Terrace, one of Salt Lake’s most unique spaces to relax, read, and take in majestic views of the city skyline, the Wasatch Mountains, and the Salt Lake Valley as it stretches to the south.

Did you know that the Ballpark Library Lab has outdoor holds lockers? The lockers can be accessed 24/7, so you can place a hold, set Ballpark as the pickup location, and pick it up any time! These lockers were recently honored by FE Technologies with an award for Outstanding Locker Design. If you have a busy schedule, give the lockers a try.
The mural on the Ballpark Library Lab and the art to match on the hold lockers was done by local artist @caroznilsson !

We took parks week to the Salt Lake City Public Library (@slcpl ) so host Ali Vallarta (@whyitsali ) could live out her lifelong dream of turning the page of the rare 1860 “Bien Edition” of John James Audubon’s “The Birds of America.”
You can find the book on display on the 4th floor of the Main Library.
The bee box that was decorated by the community is officially up and being used by our new hive! Look at all those cute thumbprint bees. 🐝🎨👀

Did you know Salt Lake City wanted to put a porpoise pond at Gallivan?! The @slcpl took us on a “behind the books” tour to check out all the parts of the library you’ve never been to.
Stop #3: Host @whyitsali takes a peek at the archives, the automatic book sorter, and the museum of lost bookmarks.
“No photos” trend… library edition! Our library staff definitely deserve the spotlight! 📚💚 Thanks for all you do to make the library such a welcoming place.
Friendly reminder: we filmed this trend for fun, please always ask for consent before photographing anyone at the library.
